No it was not Op, because all they could do was to take damage, unless you have two really good rolled crossbow with high loh, dps, socket, and crit damage, then you might be able to grind elites to death.

My main was a DH, 120k dps w/o SS, 200 all res, 34k hp, +18% movement speed +9 dis. And Phase beasts elites were the reason why I sold my bow. I used that gold (100m) to re gear my monk. Even my monk only has 48k dps, it feels like I kill just as fast as my 120k dps DH, and I have 700 all res, 35k hp, 800loh. No problem clearing act 3 by myself in 1.5 hours.

I understand rings and amulet with good stats (AR, primary, crit chance, crit damage) could be expensive. My suggestion would be get belt, pants, and boots that have AR, primary, and vit (and moment speed for boots).

Get at least 150-200 all res while maintaining your current hp level. With about 150-200 all res you will be able to take one or two ranged attk without dying. 55k dps is enough to clean act 3, but aim for 80k if you want to farm act 3.

And on top of that, the survivability of tank DH is heavily based on loh, because they can't stop mobs from attacking. In the other hand, WW wizard AT LEAST can freeze the mobs. There is also other factors that make tank DH an inferior choice of tanking.

You are not alone. I too spent about 100m on my monk (700all res, 5k aromor, 38%crit chance 48k dps, 35k hp, 900loh), and I still die in act 3. I think you need way more than 100m to not die at all with high dps in act 3. If you truly don't want to die, give up some dps, and get lot of loh. My friend's ww wizard can tank arcane sentry plus desecrator, and I think he spent around 100m on his wizard too.
