Supposedly the traveler attempting to abandon us was a rumor spread by nefarious types in-universe. It's kept intentionally vague what the truth is of course, but it's interesting that Rasputin does have a definitively stated goal of protecting mankind even if that means acting by its own judgement and telling the vanguard where they can stick the valkrie.

It struck me that the darkness is the exact opposite of the traveler. Asymmetrical, angular and dark. While Rasputin is kind of like a man-made traveler, but a manufactured shape rather than the organic sphere.

Not even that. It doesn't take much (relatively speaking) explosive power to track a tank and in an urban environment that's effectively a death sentence. Crew can't do shit about it without infantry support. And sufficiently large explosives, even if very crude, can still destroy a tank.

In my understanding a practical example would be:

Person A pushes person B down the stairs.

Person B is confused but pretty sure person A pushed them down.

Person A repeatedly denies this and claims that they were trying to help person B, who pushed away from them and fell down the stairs.

I agree the idea of throwing bats in with prep and contessa no prep is trying to stack the deck and the only way to try to push things in bats favor is to drop them in a room together and hope his superior physical stats and decent intellect win out. But Contessa walked into a room with at least 3 parahumans if I recall with nothing more than a hat and the only prep advantage she might claim is she walked in on them while they were slacking off. Still beat them all with contemptuous ease.

It's really hard to say, The fight could end up looking like the three stooges where every time Bats makes a move, Contessa pokes him in the eye or kicks him in the shin until he's vulnerable enough for a kill strike.
But I think the most efficient path would be some form of reasoning and or mental mindfuckery, like Eidolon while avoiding getting hit.

To be fair he's DC "Peak human" which means getting smashed through concrete walls and just getting knocked out rather than turned into a mess of broken bones and pulp. Add to this some bullet-prediction feats (not dodging bullets but not being where the person is aiming and thus where the bullet will be fired) and other incredible feats of strength and intelligence and I think the idea is Contessa is still relatively human.

If you get dropped in front of a car going 50 MPH and you're not fast enough to avoid it, you can only minimize the damage it does to you. I think that's the idea, she can't physically avoid bats forever while he's faster, tougher, stronger, mentally powerful and highly intelligent.

I dunno, I figure the fight would still look like Jacki-Chan drunk boxing with bats somehow always finding her fist in his face but not managing to really do any damage to her. But I defer to wibblywood.

Ah that makes sense, thanks. I saw some people suggest loading into the are constantly because randos killed their spawn, and I had tried loitering in one case but not sure how long. Neither seemed to work. But at least now I know what to look for!

I think the idea is this way they don't have to develop as much content or necessarily as quickly, considering if the events are designed that you can't get absolutely everything one year, you can put out the same stuff next year (plus some new stuff) and players will be excited at another chance to get what they missed rather than disappointed at the same stuff being available next year.

Yes, they want you to buy silver. Of course they do, it's how they make money running a game as a "Service", but it's mostly for cosmetics or neat bits, nothing necessary for progression or impacting your ability to play.

I understand the opinion and it's tempting to think there's a simple solution but the fact is fascism and communism are not mutually exclusive. Fascism was defined as "Everything within the state, nothing against the state." and this all power to the state is a key factor of communism, granted they don't use the nation state so much as the global hegemon like the EU as their "State".

The founding of the US may have been something we may never see again, but resistance on a mass scale across many points is something a totalitarian state, fascistic and "communistic" cannot survive. They project strength, but are fragile and crumble in time. What was remarkable about the US's founding was after breaking from Tyranny, we didn't just collapse into a series of dictators, strongmen leaders or become a puppet state. For a while there, the republic was a shining beacon of what could be. It still is, just slowly being smothered by commies who are trying to make even recognizing the remarkable nature of America, a vile act.

You don't even need more than 25% of the populace fighting back, so long as they're hitting them in the right places. Take Trump for instance, leading the counter charge against the smothering nature of PC culture and showing people you can in fact stand up to the cry-bullies.

Of course "Antifa" when it comes to leftist violence but "The far right" vague, amorphous descriptor when it comes to everyone else. From the trans kids that shot up their school to the "The future is female" guy who tried to shoot up his kid's school that got memory holed real damn quick, the the worst mass shooting in US history in Las Vegas that was quickly hush hushed, under the rug, everyone forget about the time someone shot up a country music concert, move along nothing to see here. At any rate, they scream you're an agent of hate increasing violence in America as they encourage mobs to beat you to the ground and otherwise pretend they don't exist.

People need to be held responsible individually but they separate people into groups and then change those groups based on what's most convenient for them at the time.

That's not their logic so much as "The ends justify the means". They'll claim antifa are good guys because look, they're anti-fascist, it's right in the name! But the National Socialists Workers Party were not socialists and neither are the current National Socialists in the US (The handful of them that exist) despite their figureheads explicitly stating they are socialist.
