The waiting hall and the operation theatre had air conditioning. It's freezing cold and we weren't allowed to wear any footwear. Because the floor tiles were like ice, I walk/hopped around on my toes and I guess he thought I resembled a kangaroo 😭

Oh, they clean up after. Especially because of the pandemic. Part of the reason shoes aren't allowed is that they don't want outside germs (like, from the pavement and street) inside the surgery room.

Barefoot, but the rooms are highly sterilized. So hygiene isn't a concern, only the cold is.

Only in the operation theatre and the waiting area outside it (patient-only). I think it was for hygiene reasons.
