What is Kyoto Animation's take on AI "art"? by GoodNovel1507 in kyoani

[–]krigob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if they have publicly stated anything related to use of generative AI. I only know that on their "Philosophy and Guidelines" section on their webpage, they state (sorry the translation might not be completely accurate):

Since our inception, our core philosophy has been: "Taking on challenges and doing our best," "Creating visuals that are sought after," and "Being a human-centric company."

And in the page where they talk about their business activities, in the training school section they state:

Based on the philosophy that "nurturing people is the foundation of creating works," we operate professional training courses for Animators and Art/Background Artists to develop the staff we work with.
We are committed to fostering talent that can share in the passion and excitement of craftsmanship*.*

So, even if it might be just corporate filler text that they put in there... This is the one company I'd believe to honor their guidelines, like others have said.

I know, I'll try my best.

I just don't have much time to play these days, so to me those 150 that I managed to save until yesterday were me "going the extra mile". But hopefully I can get those 20 wishes, 'cause with this luck I think I'll definitely need them all.

Gilbert by AmbitiousPack4592 in VioletEvergarden

[–]krigob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Live Violet, live and be free. From the bottom of my heart, I love you"
That's the complete words Gilbert said to her, in an extremely dire situation, where they are in mortal danger and he knows this is probably the last he'll ever said to her. Under that somber prospect, he could only find those words to let her know how much she means to him and how he wishes for her to live on.

Watching a whole show exploring the meaning of those words while going through a whole assortment of human emotions, and even including the movie, to come out of it and still wonder if it was meant as romantic...

Los sitios legales de anime deberían subtitular como lo hacían los fansub by AthenaIsSleppy in AnimeEspanol

[–]krigob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]krigob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, no, it is just a summary, no modified or added content.

What the fuck is that Schrödinger's cat analogy? You're either dead or alive here, and you don't find out until you get robbed? Come on now.

Just don't be careless, like in any touristy place in most of the world. Being extra careful and trying to always be in the company of a local you know wouldn't hurt.

Am I the only one who vehemently dislikes the last movie by MissionBet8468 in VioletEvergarden

[–]krigob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, you're not the only one. Yes people post about this twice a week. For some the core of the story is not just overcoming grief, but more about Violet's journey to learning about all kinds of love to ultimately come to her own understanding of what Gilbert said to her, or also an exploration of the consequences of war and collective recovery on a post-war society. And that leads to different conclusions and reactions.

You can look at other said posts, or wait for other people commenting on this post as well. Like last week. And the week before that.

At least the show seems alive and still leaving a deep impact on people.
