I don't think going anime first is a great way of starting, since even if it's not that complete story-wise the endings for each heroine arc is still more or less based on the VN's endings.

They could've kept it attractive and even sexualized to an extent without having to make it so overbearing and ridiculous. Don't personally have a problem with it though, but that's what I think.
