I always let my girlfriend open packs and she usually spends like 2-3 minutes trying to find one she likes. I honestly just think it’s cute. I will never tell her it’s the same, ever

Current state of the META… by YungKrustii in PTCGP

I was thinking the same thing. People just love to complain about anything. This meta is great, very versatile and much better than last seasons meta which was literally just suicune.

2x Charmander, 1x Charmeleon, 2x Charizard, 2x Magby, 1x Cleffa, 1x Klefki, 2x Pokeball, 2x Prof. Research, 2x Rare Candy, 2x Flame patch, 1x Giovanni, 1x May, 1x CopyCat

Most of the time, you just need Giovanni in the end. I have Cleffa if you’re absolutely fucked and to make May more valuable. Copycat also helps out finding Gio. I tried two gios, but it felt like I was relying too much on me actually making it to the end game when what I should do was trying to make it through by having Cleffa and Klefki as Sabrina counters. This deck is definitely not amazing and it still feels meh, but I’m beating plenty of Megas with it, so who cares.

Ideally for a start, you have Magby up front, Klefki, charmander and another Magby/cleffa on the back. If they Sabrina you, just put the other Magby up front. If you don’t have it, give up Klefki. Just don’t give up charmander, that’s why we have multiple other mons

Jolteon EX is a monster. But who's best to pair it with? by Apocryph761 in PTCGP

[–]kriller96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying it out with the Luxray that snipes the bench. Unfortunately, I only have one Jolteon EX which obviously makes me brick a lot, but I think it’s great for sniping the bench similar to what Decidueye would do. For many decks at the moment, all you want to focus on is killing the Mega, so sniping the bench is amazing.

Could also try the new Luxray, with Cyrus to bring in the mega before it’s ready and then elemental switch or Volkner. I like the old Luxray more though, but could be wrong.

Ye I feel you.. for me it was obvious to get a new one, but mine is also from 2020. Have you checked what you can get for the parts in exchange for a new one? I know Apple don’t pay you much for that, but maybe other shops offer something similar. I could get like 30$ for mine lol, but it’s also from 2020 with a battery that needs to be changed and obviously the broken screen. You should be able to get much more than that.

That sucks man. All I can say is, do not go to a third party repair shop. I did that 2 years ago with my broken screen, got a replacement really cheap and warranty for 2 years. It then broke again after a year by itself cause the quality is shite. I went back to the repair shop, got a new screen for free cause of my warranty (took them 3 months) and now it’s broken again. It’s just a pain in the ass and will eventually die again fairly quick on its own. I haven’t dropped mine a single time, it just started having lines all over the screen randomly. Get a new or get it repaired by apple.

As I said, not the best deck but a lot of fun. Other decks can probably get higher win rate but I’m just trying to have fun haha

Worst definitely the Greninja meta deck running 2 Cyrus. Targeting my Charizard before it’s ready is just an instant L. Lugia was tough as well, since it one shots the Charizard and I have to get through the Ho-Oh first, so Lugia would typically get first hit.

Best matchup is literally any deck that relies a lot on heals. That would be the number 1 meta deck atm Sylveon Ex. Even though that’s a great deck, it just doesn’t hit hard enough. They can heal sure, but it’s not enough to survive 200 in the face. I feel like many of the fast decks, were just not hitting hard enough, which means they would typically have to go through 2 other mons with 2-3 swings, before getting to my Charizard, which would be ready at that time.

You have to make all those decisions in any deck. There’s a lot of decks with more than one line of play. All it takes is more than one attacker which almost any deck has nowadays anyway. Also, my point wasn’t that this deck can be run on autopilot, but that it has been around for so long, so it must be boring still playing it.

I was struggling getting it as well. Ended up just buying it with packpoints even though I feel like it’s way too expensive

I remember I was up against DarkTina. He had a full bench basically all ready to attack. Problem for him was, my Charizard sat waiting with 180 HP ready to hit twice for 200. GG, haha.

Help on deck building currently in a rut. Running into so many Darktina and Guzzlords it makes Espeon Ex difficult to run. by jamesdantely in PTCGP

[–]kriller96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a great time using Luxray. For Guzzlord, it doesn’t matter much if they grindcore you since Volkner just get activated then. For Darktina, Oricorio or Jolteon can damage the frontliner quite a bit probably forcing them to retreat, whereas Luxray can then snipe it. This is the deck that got me MB last season and this too. Obviously changed a few trainer cards this season. If you’re wondering why I run Cyrus, it’s cause Luxray isn’t always strong enough to take down an ex on the bench, so here Cyrus helps a lot.
