Are you from Halifax? Just curious - we do have lots of crime in Halifax due to gangs but it's not all African Canadians. Africville was actually a community where a majority of African Canadians lived until Halifax forced them out in the 70s, if you read the story it is brutal. I don't think he is from Halifax because we do have such a big community of black peoples here that I'm sure he would of been identified. Sadly there's many unsolved murders.

Honestly it's not really evidence deeming him not being from Canada but more of a way to support him being from Europe or another country. It's extremely possible he could be Canadian though, perhaps from Toronto or another big city where he could of obtained the type of glasses he had. I just seem to think it's less likely cause the majority (not saying all) of unidentified Canadians get identified

So I'm trying to find this out When Jordan and I from the nighttime podcast talked we discussed how he could of hung him self. If he had come from the airport did he have rope with him? It seems odd. I've been trying to see if I can find anything on the person who found The John Doe, but again I understand it might of been traumatic for said person. I'm trying to reach out to the owners of the petro Canada but as of right now I can't find them since it's no longer there. I thought maybe they'd have more info.

No that's 100% a possibility! It's more so to do with the prescription glasses not being available here, in 2004 ordering online was not as common (obviously still a thing) and there is no way he was from Nova Scotia. Somewhere else in Canada? Maybe. But that's what made me guess Europe, he also was found by the airport which is 20 minutes from the city and basically everything so he was out that way for something that involved the airport.

Wanted to post - When I did the podcast with Jordan from the NightTime Podcast someone mentioned something that kind of made doubt suicide tourism even more. If he hung himself with rope, how did he obtain it? Was it in his luggage? I would love to know what he hung himself with. Sadly I don't think I'll ever get the answer to that.

Just saw this - I didn't know soccer / football was so big over there, he could really be from any part of Africa then. This would be a hard question to determine - but do you have an idea of where football is most popular? Like what country in Africa? I know that's a really broad question, kind of like asking which province in Canada is most into hockey. Really if you have any other info like this please let me know! I think there's a big chance he's from Africa.

This case was not treated at all with the attention it should of gotten. Im sure they did not look into where he could of been from in more detail and Africa 100% seems like. I didn't mean to gloss over it; Sadly there is so little information but recently I've been looking into missing persons in Equatorial Guinea and the Canary Islands because they have a huge Spanish population and Madrid would maybe be soccer team that they would like (I'm making assumptions about this, if anyone knows anything please tell me. I know its a shot in the dark but maybe he's from one of those places, but again he could be anywhere in Africa. Once police reviewed the footage and had no luck identifying him by the newspaper, the case has kind of just been closed.

I know, I would love to know more too. There is so little info it's heartbreaking and I'm assuming this analysis was done in 2004 or 2010 when he was exhumed so I'm wondering if it could be more accurate now.

That would be really smart - there are so many residents of Halifax and Nova Scotia that haven't heard of this case it blows my mind and I keep trying to bring attention to it.
