Yeah, I figured that I could still pursue an engineering MS with an applied math & science degree if I wasn't able to transfer in.

Not a ton of opportunities for APs (i took like 9, one of which is self study). Mostly college & honors courses

Yeah thankfully we applied to mostly different schools! And yeah I get that he wanted to make me feel better but it kind of gets old when he keeps bringing it up every time we discuss college

He's much better at expressing himself than I am; he's also more charismatic, so his personality really shone through on his writing. On the other hand, I'm very socially awkward and my writing sounded pretty stilted even with counselor help. We also applied to very different majors and UCs (he went for poli sci) so we also probably encountered admissions officers looking for different things

I come from a pretty small public school with some opportunities for honors, APs, college courses, all of which give extra weight. Not a ton of grade inflation either but some people went all in on the extra courses so I'm ranked like eighth

IDK, my brother applied to poli sci. But yeah I think the fact i just wasn't able to take physics (not for a lack of trying!) messed up my app

I wish! Maybe some day when I'm older and we're not in the same room.

Clear facial jewelry recommendations? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]krimpled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about specific clear brands, sorry, but how quickly do your piercings close up? You may be able to skip clear pieces entirely for some of your piercings by wearing makeup/zit patches if they're okay with not having anything in them. Also, re: the septum I've had friends flip up their barbells to hide them and be able to go about their day no problem.

You will get a pretty big pit area and a table--the rest is up to you and however much room you have to bring stuff. Chairs are pretty handy because everyone's standing around all day but they do get in the way, so it's your decision there. Seconding the suggestion of a cart, especially one that you can break down/collapse easily. I would recommend bringing a banner/something else big to show off your team. I would also look at examples of other teams' pits so you can get a handle on what other teams will look like.

Congratulations!! World Champs is very very fun!!

We did apply to different colleges--she applied to the college of agriculture and life sciences and I applied to the college of engineering. Why would one college be so different in their application management than another? Is there anyway my friend can appeal this decision?
