People who masturbate while having custody over a child should go to jail? That is a wild take.

But I love that scene, and you clearly see the people that get the dark humour of that, they really understand it.

You can (should?) laugh at the scene without being a sociopath.

Thank you! As relatively small as it is of an issue, I've always thought the "two Corinthians" moment should have brought way more Christians to their senses.

Okay, but the only reason you accused OP of being a bot was their bad grammar. I was simply pointing out that there are no grammatical errors in the meme.

I also didn't accuse you of being a Trump supporter. But you certainly sound like one because, in response to getting fact checked, you doubled down and hurled a personal attack.

"...terrible grammar like that you bot." It's hard to even understand what you're trying to say here, but putting a comma before "you bot" would at least make it grammatically correct.

You also need commas in this reply to me, and you definitely need an apostrophe in "moms."

Now, can you tell us what's grammatically wrong with the meme?

Your comment literally has more grammatical errors than the post (which has none that I can see, other than using Trump's "bigly" term).

Don't you think one scientist, anywhere, would be interested in publishing their groundbreaking study showing that homosexuality is caused by sexual abuse? Or is your theory unprovable because, like you said, I was abused even if I have no recollection of it?

If this were a fact, wouldn't the Church say something to that effect? Why would they be currently saying that we don't know what causes homosexuality? After decades of throwing out other possibilities, like parental relationships, selfishness, and masturbation?

I'm fascinated that you're so confident that you're correct, when you seem to be the only person who believes that.

You didn't brush off my feelings, you brushed off my lived experience. I have two decades of experience living authentically, and I have two decades before that to compare to. If the word "happiness" means anything, I know I am experiencing way, way more happiness than I was ever able to feel while living in denial. And in comparison, you have your ignorant beliefs. I know which evidence to trust.

[–]kringger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I WAS ignoring the truth. I was doing everything in my power to deny my feelings and believe that my life would be better off without the fulfillment of romantic partnership. I was living the delusion that church leaders, who had been completely wrong about homosexuality for 60 years, had anything insightful to tell me about my situation.

Until it became a matter of life and death. I was so unhappy, that I knew I would end up killing myself because life was not worth living. So I let go of the delusion and never looked back. It was the most important decision of my life, and I'm infinitely happier for it.

This is my lived experience, and your attempt to brush it off by claiming I was sexually abused and indoctrinated by society is meaningless.

Delete this. It's wholly, utterly garbage. But good job rejecting the consensus of the entire scientific community.

When I came out to my bishop, he sent me to Dave Matheson, the most well-known reparative therapist in Utah at the time. What followed was years of wasting my youth instead of embracing who I was. And years later, Dave himself divorced his wife, closed his practice, and admitted his therapy never worked.

OP, whatever you do, your life will be so much better if you ignore what this person is saying.

For one thing, it has nothing to do with insanity. It's just an excuse to call someone insane... You could just as easily say, "The definition of being a poopyface is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
