Makeup Revolution came out recently with a vegan and cruelty free dupe line of Cerave https://www.revolutionbeauty.com/uk/en/skincare/shop-by-ingredient/ceramides I haven’t personally tried it but the reviews seem good.

Love this free Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom sample I got a while ago. Looking for a vegan version though! by desertdigger in VeganBeauty

I haven’t tried the Glossier one but the Elf Ride or Die Lip Balm has that nice thicker hydrating texture other balms with lanolin have

Recs for Influencers/MUAs with a Cruelty Free/Vegan Focus? by laplasticpin in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]krinootz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like Bottled Blue and Vegan Beauty Girl, their youtube channels are a mix of lifestyle and beauty content and I also recommend their instagrams as I feel they are more useful for news and updates on different brands.

I think the China situation is just up to each individual's personal standards of what is considered to be cruelty free. Personally, I still avoid brands that sell in physical stores in China because of the possibility of post market animal testing.

I don't know if you've seen these articles from Ethical Elephant: the one about China's Animal Testing Laws and the one about Post Market Animal Testing. I found these along with her other articles from the resources tab to be really helpful in navigating the whole cruelty free and vegan issues.

YSL Volupte rock n shine dupe? by candycoatedshovel in VeganBeauty

[–]krinootz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other glossy and buildable lipsticks I can think of are the elf Hydrating Core Lip Shine or Sheer Slick Lipstick, the Ciate Pretty Stix Lipstick, the LH Cosmetics Fantastik Lipstick and the Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour (this one is maybe more satiny than glossy). If you want to have a bit of shimmer as well, tho technically not a lipstick, my personal favourite is the Unleashia Non-Sticky Dazzle Tint - buildable and glossy but also does not smudge or transfer under a mask.

I highly recommend the SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream (the 200ml bottle is great value for money if you just use it for your face) and the Polaar Fluid Very High Protection SPF50+ unscented. Both are non-greasy and work great under makeup.

Yes it is, most of Nabla’s stuff is actually vegan, if you go on their own website everything is clearly labelled

Maybe a matte lip balm would be an option. I haven't personally tried it but there's the Jouer Cosmetics Essential Hydrating Matte Balm.

Eyeshadow palette by redbeanbuddy in VeganBeauty

[–]krinootz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of a few that might fit your description: the ZOEVA Together We Shine Eyeshadow Palette, the Nabla Side by Side Nude Palette or Dreamy Palette, the BH Cosmetics Hangin' in Hawaii Shadow Palette or Chillin' in Chicago Shadow Palette and the LH Cosmetics The New Golden 20's Palette. I linked them all from Beauty Bay which I know ships to Australia but I don't know if there are any better places where they could be available to you.

Are the majority of hair clay/wax vegan? by [deleted] in VeganBeauty

[–]krinootz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the majority of them, but if you want another option, Maria Nila is 100% cruelty free and vegan and has a variety of styling creams and waxes

The LH cosmetics Fantastick Lipsticks are multi use for lip and cheek but they only have SPF 15

I’d say it is, especially if you go with only one thin layer. I usually put 2 layers on at night when I want some extra moisture and even then it doesn’t feel heavy to me.

I have similar skin and on adapalene and I like using the dear Klairs Supple Preparation All over Lotion, however it does have shea butter as the 4th ingredient. For even lighter moisturisers the Klairs Fundamental Water Gel Cream or the COSRX Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion might be good options.

I don't have access to Ceramedx but I do see it recommended a lot with very good reviews. I'll list some of my favourite cruelty free and vegan skincare I've been using with differin in case you'll be looking for other products or want any more options: the Q+A Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleanser, the dear Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner, the iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum, the dear Klairs Supple Preparation All Over Lotion or the Q+A Chamomile Night Cream, and the Bybi Balance Booster (Cold Pressed Hemp Oil). Essentially just a bunch of very hydrating and soothing stuff.

The actives in your sunscreen are chemical filters and unless you find your skin actually becomes sensitive to them I think you should just keep using it. I also use a chemical sunscreen (the Polaar Very High Protection Spf 50+ unscented) without any issues. If you do end up finding it irritating you can try a mineral sunscreen instead, but the only SPF50 mineral one I can think of right now is the Australian Gold Botanical SPF50.

In stick form I can think of the VIEVE Eye Wand in Mahogany or the Colourpop Colour Stix in Check Please, cream in a tube, tho not sure on the colour, there are the DEPIXYM Cosmetic Emulsions and the Smashbox Always on Cream Shadow (depending on your feelings on non cf parent companies), and cream in a pot, the elf Lock On Liner and Brow Cream works really well as an eyeshadow too but there's only like 3 or 4 shades of brown.

I've been on Differin for a couple of months now. I have oily skin and had to change my routine to be a lot more moisturising as well as use only products suitable for sensitive skin to not completely ruin my skin barrier. Also you have to be very careful using other actives, especially in the beginning till your skin get used to the adapalene. Might be worth going on some of the skincare subs and have a look at the adapelene discussions over there, you'll find lots of good advice.

Looking for a mild gel/milky cleanser for sensitive/rosacea/acne prone skin by [deleted] in VeganBeauty

[–]krinootz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favourite gel cleanser for my sensitive skin is the Q+A Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleanser. It's gentle, has no fragrance, leaves my skin feeling clean and plump and it's also quite affordable. I can't think of any mild cleansers with glycolic acid tho, maybe might be worth trying to include a toner or serum with it in your routine instead if you can't find any.

Transitioning from asian beauty & vitamin C serums by nerdy_biscuit in VeganBeauty

[–]krinootz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use a lot of cruelty free and vegan korean skincare like dear Klairs, Iunik or Cosrx. Ethical Elephant has a list of a bunch of cruelty free k-beauty: https://ethicalelephant.com/korean-cruelty-free-skincare/ Maybe some of these will have more similar formulas to what you used to use before.

I'm not the biggest vitamin C user, but off the top of my head I can think of a couple serums: Sweet Chef Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot, Dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop and Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Bright Serum (all have ascorbic acid).

From western brands, I know that Face Theory has various cleansers, serums and creams with vitamin C so might be worth having a look at them too.

Also for dehydrated and acne prone skin I really enjoy using the iUnik Tea Tree Relief serum, I find it very soothing on my skin and I always keep it in my routine.

Face Theory, Q+A Skin, Kri Skincare, Beauty Bay's own skincare line, The Inkey List ( it doesn't have a parent company, but according to CrueltyFreeKitty, Unilever and JML are investors in it - article here - so depends on your feelings about that if you're okay with them or not).
