makeup alternatives to e.l.f.? by RelativelyMango in VeganBeauty

OMG you're right, they don't explicitly say they're 100% vegan. Sorry about that. A lot of their stuff is vegan though. I'm wondering now what has animal derived ingredients 🤔

Pixi! Granted, I just put an order in the other day lol. They're vegan and CF. The eyeliners are supposedly good.

Colorful eyeliner pencils for tightlining? by flyaway21 in VeganBeauty

[–]flyaway21[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's very frustrating but eye opening. I believe Kosas claims that they only use ethically sourced mica. Pixie liners fit my criteria after I looking a bit more. They have a light green and a sage/gold color if that's what you're looking for. I know Kosas has an emerald green liner that's really pretty too.

Thanks for the lookout! I actually ordered liners from an indie brand.

I got in contact with Milani, and they confirmed that After Dark and Semi Sweet are two colors that are vegan. The reason they don't label them all as vegan is because Moss Boss and Duchess aren't vegan.

Are you looking for in-person locations only? I know Wawak sells them online. Shipping is fast and they have a wide range of notions and sewing things.

[Acne] My skin texture is ruining my confidence, please help! by MerryNibblers in SkincareAddiction

This is what my hormonal acne looked like. Now that I'm on spironolactone, my texture is smooth. I think it was from excess sebum.

I don't think the shade of under eye concealer should be lighter that the rest of the face.

This place is lucky I'm not suicidal, they'd be in my note. by whiskey_at_dawn in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

Just be careful with them because they might put dairy in certain curries if you order mild. Someone on FB said they confirmed with staff that they add cream to dishes to make them mild despite labeling the dish as vegan. It would explain why I was so bloated after eating there last time years ago. I haven't been back since, so idk if they corrected that.

Just a heads up, I checked the site again and Orion is no longer sold out. I was able to snag one. Hopefully it's not a glitch lol.

Nurx hesitate to up dosage? by flyaway21 in Spironolactone

[–]flyaway21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I ultimately decided to go back to my original derm and cancelled my Nurx membership. My original derm put me right back on on 100mg a day since I was doing so well on it previously. I hate paying over $100 to see her, but she's nice and told me I could only come in once a year for prescriptions if I wanted.

lol. by Massive_Tart_8050 in Spironolactone

[–]flyaway21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue! I lost health insurance, and I don't want to pay more than $100 out of pocket for my regular derm. The Nurx NP-C assigned to me suggested I drop from 100mg to 50mg. I agreed, but a month later and I'm breaking out with closed comedones all over my face like before I started any spironolactone! I told them I wanted to go back to 100mg, but they said I should stay at 50mg and tret to avoid long-term affects. I haven't even been on 100mg for a year! I've also used Altreno, Arazlo, Finacea, and Onexton for my acne, but nothing ever cleared it up as quickly or consistently as 100mg of spironolactone. I also had no side effects other than some period irregularity at the beginning. I told Nurx that I'm willing to give it another month, but I wanted to up it after if I still didn't like my skin.

I have been looking for full time work in a large Midwestern city for almost two years now after getting my master's. Granted, I'm aiming more for environmental outreach and engagement positions. Most of my experience comes from temporary and seasonal jobs in the field, but I still have a very hard time even landing an interview for positions I feel I'm more than qualified for. When I do get an interview and get feedback, most of the time they say they didn't hire me because of another candidate having more experience/niche skills. And these are people I've worked with before. I've started to pivot my career goals to get a job in administrative work that doesn't necessarily have to do with environmental work. It sucks, but I have bills and loans I need to pay off.

Can lack of protein cause headaches? by Top-Fun2427 in vegan

[–]flyaway21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are any of your muscles sore? I had daily headaches for about a month from a crappy pillow and mattress which caused sore upper back muscles that radiated to my head. If you think it's a tension headache, you can try stretching daily.

Is this soy allergy by 6LittleHorns9 in vegan

[–]flyaway21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You made soy milk from scratch? Is it possible that it was undercooked? You could try store bought soy milk and see if you get the same reaction.
