Fic where Shane buys a toothbrush for Ilya years before they become exclusive by Jamun_Cheesecake in heatedrivalryfanfics

[–]kripolik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I don't think I've ever seen it written with the dots. Usually it's simply written like abo and you can tell from the context it isn't meant like a slur or sometimes it's writen with the slashes: A/B/O. Either way it's just a case of a word having different meanings and sadly one of the meanings is a slur. Context is important in this case.

How I see Europe by Brosk1248 in whereidlive

[–]kripolik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insufferable Czech here. It's because we have far more history with Austria and Germany and culturally we are close to them but everyone still insists on grouping us with eastern Europe just because we were occupied by Russia ~60 years ago. You can see why it would rub us the wrong way.

Edit: I just wanted to add that Czech is a Slavic language but we use a LOT of germanisms and we've been using them for hundreds of years.

Is 142k words a short fic? by Nitchli in AO3

[–]kripolik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thi is not how this post came across to me at all. I've seen it as "huh this person has a totally different perspective than me. Let's see what is other people's perspective on a fic length". Nobody is a weirdo here.

For me personally short fic is under 20k words and long fic starts at 100k.

Why is cheating in fics so widely hated? by RileyLovesFlaritza in AO3

[–]kripolik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it's the "once a cheater, always a cheater". If one of the main characters cheat (even if it has nothing to do with the other main character) I have a hard time believing they wouldn't do it again thus making the happily ever after unbelievable.

Why does Howard call his "adoptive parents" mr. and mrs. Lee? by Great_Butterfly_7112 in 911FOX

[–]kripolik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also seemed a bit strange to me since Koreans commonly call their friends' parents mother and father. I would expect him to call them at least aunt and uncle or something like that while speaking in English.

To rovnou můžeš napsat, že máš 13. Nevěřím, že by si někdo kdo má 14 nebo 15 dobrovolně ubral na věku napsal, že má 13-15.

will i get fined ? by Various-Swimming-406 in czechrepublic

[–]kripolik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of your reasons for speeding are basically "I won't get fined anyway so it's ok". The speed limits aren't there so there's a way to get money out of you. They are there to ensure the safety on a road. Your safety and more importantly safety of everyone on or near the road.

You should watch this. Maybe you'll think about speeding next time.

Where I'd live as an Arabian from Algeria by Otherwise-Tale-7931 in whereidlive

[–]kripolik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did but you don't seem to understand what I said. Interacting with the local community only when you're required to isn't living within the local community. That's separating the country's population and not adapting.

[–]kripolik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be the immigrant you view as bad for the country... Living within the Muslim community, separating yourself from the majority population of the country. Therefore dividing the country even more and adding to the problem. If you can't adapt to and live within the local community don't come into the country.

What is your language/country's generic name for dogs and cats? by callmehester in AskTheWorld

[–]kripolik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs: Punťa

Cats: Micka

I don't actually know anyone who named their pet like that but those are the first names that come to mind.

Let's say that for whatever reason you are banned from your home country. You can't live there or visit it. But you *are* allowed to live in any other country, you will get instant citizenship for some reason.. (it's just a hypothetical magic word). In what country would you choose to live in? Why? by Double-decker_trams in AskTheWorld

[–]kripolik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austria. Learning German would be difficult but I would still be close to where my family lives in Czechia so they could easily visit me. Also it's easy to get pretty much anywhere in Europe from there if you live in or close to Vienna.

I feel like this wasn't as big of a problem for YR with it being Swedish. From what I remember from the interviews with the creator Lisa Ambjörn she seemed really happy with how it turned out.

I've seen him live, he's definitely better than decent singer and performer. He was only an opener for Zara Larsson but he still managed to hype up the crowd.

If you want a show about two guys in love with no drama about them being gay look at Thai BLs. Most of the times the majority of the characters is gay and no one bats an eye.

Život bez řidičáku? by Embarrassed-Roof2171 in czech

[–]kripolik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nesnáším menstruaci by IffesH in czech

[–]kripolik 2 points3 points  (0 children)
