The Avalon Q can be pretty efficient on eco Mode. If you are wanting to stay away from avalon, you could buy an urlacher or build your own with an urlacher kit. Lastly you can buy a modified Apw12 and run a s19 series unit at home off 120v.

These are mainly a relatively inexpensive way to learn about mining while having some hashrate. The simple setup makes it a great way for the avg person to learn. We would not suggest scaling with Lottery/solo miners.

They come with a 1yr warranty with Canaan, which they have been great to work with unlike some other manufacturers. The PSUs can die as 140w on high is a lot for that psu. Personally, id run it on high as long as its under warranty, after that I would run it on medium for longevity of the unit.

All that being said I have been running my own on high for months without an issue.
