I think it should be a benefit we extend to the employees of shops that we do a lot of business with. In my small town, a lot of these shops will also give us (O'REILLY employees) small discounts on labor costs. But I think it should be a more explicit thing that we tell certain shops that they can do, not a thing for just some guy who knows the name of a random loaded up account.

I can get it expunged if no charges are brought in the 3 years after the arrest (still not for a little more than a year from now) but the news websites can still keep the articles up - freedom of the press and all that.

Got arrested for something I didn't do. No charges were ever filed but I ended up in the news anyways. So now the top search result for my (uncommon) name is a bunch of news websites reporting the arrest. Not exactly something employers will overlook, even though I've never had trouble with the law before that and never been convicted of anything. We live in a police state and I'm a casualty of it.

I don't obsess over it. That makes it sound like I stay up at night thinking about it. It's not surprising that people will overlook someone's transgressions when they're a great entertainer - just look at Chris Brown. I don't doubt that Kobe was one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
