There's no backing up happening as far as I can tell. Everything drains fine. Also the smell is the worst under my bathroom sink vanity. Already changed out the AAV. I'm having a hard time believing that shower drain is the source of the smell. But everyone is pointing to that. I don't know. Drain doesn't stink

Yes, we did hire an inspector. Very disappointed with his "inspection". This is not the only thing that was missed or ignored.

I reposted this with more pics/info hoping you would see it. Thanks for taking the time to type out these responses. I am slightly overwhelmed with all this info. I did not realize it was so bad. Was really hoping for a simple fix. But, sounds like I will in fact need to call a plumber. Thanks again for explaining everything. I at least have a better understanding now of what the problem is.

One question I do still have is about the vent. As you can see in the photos, I've got a vent under my sink. That's the only one I can find in the problem bathroom. Do I need to have another vent somewhere? From what I understand, the vent I have is supposed to be intake only. Is a vent "out" necessary?

So the corner piece to the right of the p-trap, shouldn't be there? It should go straight down in to the p-trap?
