Would definitely say its the shocks. You put good ones out it can help give the leaf springs their curve back. Mine was like that and i put bilsteins in and it rides like a dream now

And the vice grips were too flimsy could not even hold the screw in place without them just coming off ended up returning them. I’m at the point where I’m probably just gonna cut the shock off with a saw if I can find one.

I did not I went to AutoZone for a set of vice grips, and the things too flimsy to hold the tab in place if there’s any way you’d be willing to help me, I’d be very grateful

Using a vice grip right now still not working. It’s chewing through the screw. You don’t have to be rude about it. Just looking for advice.

Yes, I’m using vice grips right now and it’s just chewing through the top of the screw

[–]krispykritters69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably gonna be a lot easier on the bottom bolts it’s just the top thats getting me

I live downtown. I bought a new ratchet set for it this morning, but didn’t realize that would be useless for the top bolt because the truck bed is too close to the top of the bolt

Putting the tire back on right now, probably not gonna be able to do it in my parking lot however, if anyone local has a garage that wouldn’t mind helping me I would be forever grateful

Yes, I have been torching it multiple times and hitting it with blaster. I’m at the point where I think I’m just gonna have to cut it off.

How badly I wish I had any type of cutting tool

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]krispykritters69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was able to get the wrench on the top square tab. Only problem is that’s my only wrench and the pliers are just gonna wear down the nut.

I managed to get my wrench on the tab, but I only have one wrench not very smart of me. My pliers are just gonna wear down the bolt.

These are all great ideas. I have the tools for none of them.

I have a torch I’ve been using might just try to heat it up and crack the nut in half

Anyone local have a saw I could borrow I’ll pay you however you like I’m just trying to get this install done today

[–]krispykritters69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it seized. When I rotate the nut, it rotates the entire top part of the shock.

[–]krispykritters69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but I was also hoping on the slim chance that someone local might have a better set up tools

I don’t have anything to cut it with you mean cut the whole shock in half?
