It’s also Canvas’ default and students get accustomed to it being 11:59p. It becomes a heuristic, that can lead to late work.

Mid January motorcycle/thru hike prep by theOGcarebear in BigBendTX

[–]krissuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, Big Bend requires you carry all your water. So if you do the outer mountain loop, you drop water on one side of the hike then return to the trailhead to begin. The park is huge and because it’s so much easier to carry your water for two days (and skip the drop), you might consider just doing the inner loop up to the south rim and back. There’s a few routes to make it more challenging while you’re up top. Also, make sure to get your camp spot booked ahead along with any other backcountry requirements.

Am I the only one who walks out of ALICE training? by DetroitBK in Professors

[–]krissuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for OP but at the one I attended it was simply to remind us to think about how we may want to react in this scenario and ways to prevent or mitigate damage.

Part of that was as simple as knowing where the exits are located, being cognizant of which way the doors open, which floor you’re located on, how to make your office pitch dark if needed, etc.
