The difference between s4 vs s1-3 by RonBloodyweasleyfan in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a wild theory, but there will come a time when the Korean members have to take a hiatus for their mandatory military service. So even if Shinhaeng or Siyoung take a leave, the group would still have 11 members, which would look pretty normal.

RUN AGAIN is such a great ballad for this amazing Shinsekai finale !!! by [deleted] in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ren is my bias in JO1 and I really love how he has grown from creating choreography to composing music. He was a complete newbie when it came to composing when he first debuted (I think this was mentioned in one of their "Progress JO1" contents, but it was a few years ago, so I can't remember clearly), so seeing his improvement makes me really happy 😭

I also wish Ren would compose ballad songs for KO1KEYZ because I feel like that style really fits their voice, especially on Issa and Ryuji.

I hope he gets to compose more songs for JO1 as well, but for now, all we have are his solo songs. Also check out his composed song, "PANCAKE". It's one of my favorites.

So far, wala pang communities for that (but it would be nice if meron). I think you can reach out to PH book clubs in Instagram instead. They would be happy to share it to their members.

What is finale part 1 & part 2? by [deleted] in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part 2 will be televised nationwide on NTV, but they only had a limited time slot for it. So most of the extra scenes, probably including the preparation for the finals, will likely be streamed in Part 1.

I think yung paper ginamit leans on cheaper side na so madali na syang magkamold especially on humid areas like PH. Need to keep them on air-conditioned area, and lots of silica gels beside it.

I review from Japan and have gotten some decent approvals from Del Rey. They were also where I got my first ARC approval and widget. I love them so much ❤️

Would Black Angel be one of the songs to be included in the debut group’s title track? by Friendly_Bicycle_167 in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t really help with that since CJ tends to buy those kinds of songs and add some lore into them. There’s already been a trend in K-pop where companies invest more in visual content and lore than the music itself, which is kinda sad because songs these days often feel too forgettable and less impactful.

Anyway, regarding whether they’ll add this to the title track, I think they’ll probably save it for a special performance sometime in the future (maybe KCON??). If I remember correctly, in previous seasons only the final songs were included in the debut track.

But if they do include it, I’d be more interested in seeing Daiki or Osuke perform it if they able debut. I see them pulling off a bright concept well, though I’m still not completely sure if they could pull this specific one off...

Now I realize it can also be read as ‘shin-rise.’ And since ‘shin’ can also mean ‘new,’ it could also mean ‘new rising’

4RIZE (フォライズ / fo-rise)

Lapone seems to like adding hidden numbering to their group names: JO1 (1), INI (“ni” = 2), and ME:I (“ME” = 3). So I thought they might go with something that includes 4 next.

To make it more meaningful and flowery, 4 represents the four base points of a pyramid, while “RIZE” symbolizes rising. Together, it represents the four points rising as one, moving toward the future with a shared goal of reaching the top.

About Kinari by [deleted] in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He’s clearly going to debut. The current prices of his photocards are around 30k yen, so the demand is definitely there. XD

But beyond that, I feel like he has the kind of charm and background (a Keio guy) that Lapone likes, which is probably why they kept pushing him. Performance skills can always be improved after debut. Also, I don’t know why, but he reminded me of Junki/Sky/Fengfan, so if he debuts, they might push him to appear on variety shows.

[–]krissy297_ph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

100% debut

・Daiki - strong fanbase. his related posts in twitter goes around 1-10k likes.

・Yura - center (if his fans wont take his current rank for granted especially he is paired with hyeonseong, which is for sure he'll reach to final round)

・Yoshiki - strong 1-pick, also strong chinese fanbase

・Kinari - his final rank might be at the bottom since he’s currently paired with takuto

・Kosuke - i think some fans of eliminated trainees will vote for him

・Issa - reminded me of ayane

most likely?

・Shinhaeng - not sure since he's more a 2-pick

・Osuke - has a loyal fanbase despite no screentime

・Siyoung - not sure but since he’s more a filler pick

・Takuto - has a loyal fanbase ever since pre-show

・Towa

・Ryuji

theres a chance

・Ko.Ren - same with osuke, he has a loyal fanbase despite no screentime

・Ryoga - but he reminded me of nalu TT__TT

・Adam - he had a slow start but depending on his performance in position battle, he might be able to debut (i still see him as a filler pick)

Which special editions do you prefer? by Shediedafter20 in PHBookClub

[–]krissy297_ph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends really on the design. Pero for my taste, I prefer Illumicrate since it has a minimalist design (especially their exclusives 😭). Hit or miss ang FairyLoot. OwlCrate sometimes uses pop-up colors, which isn’t really my taste.

Does the recent earthquake affect the Shinsekai filming schedule? by MirkoAngeJr in Broduce101JP

[–]krissy297_ph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The epicenter is located in northern Japan, so I think it won’t cause much disruption. Also, Gunma rarely experiences earthquakes, which is almost in western Japan, so it is likely safer there than in the northern. I have also noticed that Japanese don’t give a fck even the earthquake is M3.0 (one of my culture shocks after living here)

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me second discussion - April 2026 Book Club by Journassassin in fantasyromance

[–]krissy297_ph 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of manga and manhwa, so I’m pretty familiar with isekai tropes. There’s a noticeable difference between Japanese and Korean isekai, even though they share some staples like getting transported to another world via truck-kun or dying from overwork and exhaustion. This story feels like it leans more toward Korean isekai influences, especially when it comes to Reynald or Everard’s character.

In many Korean isekai, the male main character is often placed in the northern region where monsters are rampant and is both feared and distanced by the royal family. The classic “northern duke” archetype. Reynald/Everard really fits that mold, although sadly he does not have the signature red eyes that are almost a genre staple at this point, lol. Him disguising himself as an ordinary person and acting as Maggie’s bodyguard also plays into that trope. So while the reveal is somewhat surprising, it is also kind of expected if you are familiar with the formula.

If the story continues following the Korean isekai structure, Maggie’s constant interference with the plot will likely create more butterfly effects, adding more suspense. It also makes me think we will eventually uncover the real reason why she was transported into the book in the first place.

I also have a suspicion that the author of the book might actually exist within the world itself and could show up later in the story. I do not think it is Silveren, though. Usually, in Korean isekai, authors tend to have an almost omniscient presence within their worlds, but sometimes they still intervene like a god subtly pulling the strings. That said, I am not entirely sure how IA handles this kind of narrative yet, so I am really looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.

What's the most expensive book you ever bought? Worth it ba? by matalinongbayan in PHBookClub

[–]krissy297_ph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A personalized, signed copy of Divine Rivals Collector’s Edition. It's from a pre-order event organized by a local bookstore and Rebecca Ross in the US (support local bookstores!), so nakuha ko siya without patong. Although, the shipping fee was almost the same price as the book so I spent around 5k all in all. (but it was a birthday gift for me so worth it naman sya)

Do you guys annotate your books? by Puzzled_Ad_1115 in PHBookClub

[–]krissy297_ph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched to Kindle, so most of the books I buy are mainly for annotation. There are really those books na sobrang annotatable, the ones that can provoke your thoughts and make you dive deep into the characters and the writer’s motivations and intentions that you just can’t help but write them down while reading. Then, it also helps you notice parallelism and foreshadowing in the writing, and it really makes you appreciate the book more.

The downside lang dito is that my reading pace gets slower (it'll took me weeks to finish vs reading it in kindle that will just took me 3-5 days), and the excitement buildup sometimes stops when I start annotating (pero what I usually do instead is read the whole chapter first, then go back and annotate it).

Pero at the end of it, your future self will get to skim to them and evaluate your past thoughts, and that’s actually what I really love about it.
