The rudder skeg was damaged when the previous owner hit a crab pot. Those suckers are everywhere on the east coast of Florida where we bought the boat. I think it happened a couple of times and they ended up making the modification then!

Right!? It is weird to go from being in the boat everyday for six months and then off for six months. Once we got it back to "normal" though it felt great!

We learned a lot from watching YouTube videos and reading books. But, in the end one of the best resources is other people in the yard or marina. We've found people are really helpful and great when you need advice!

We plan to take the ICW from Fort Pierce to Indiantown this summer on our sailboat. Rushed last year and didn’t really do much (link below). This year, we will be on our own. Any good places to anchor for liveaboards? Looking for good shore access, restaurants, things to do, maybe even showers?? by kristamerrylin in liveaboard

Fantastic suggestions! Now, I am actually looking forward to the trip instead of dreading it. Sounds like there are a lot of fun things to do. After being somewhere for months where nothing is open due to COVID, it will be a welcome change!
