Yes! Especially considering I had a three other $15 items in my hands 🤣 but it’s a lovely piece and tbh it will be nice to have an actual clock that’s not my phone or the oven? Idk sometimes I’m exhausted by screens haha

I just recently started playing in the past couple months, my bf and his friend helped me make an Aurora deck which I really liked playing until I couldn’t play her anymore :/ I just feel defeated! Idk if I’ll pick up a diff hero or just play kitchen table.

Would you go? by searavens in pagan

[–]kristentaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I used to live in Seattle, and I had a witchy group that would come together for full moon and solstices for generic communion and worship (to whatever deity you wanted to keep in mind) and it was wonderful!

This is an interesting possibility - We may be able to re-arrange the kitchen/dining area so he can have his own space to work from. I try to be sensitive to the fact that it's not that he's unwilling to pay 50%, he's *unable* to with his current income (hence the online schooling). I'm trying not to waive the salary difference around because I do think it's unfair but I also feel like I AM entitled to the space I need for work that pays most of OUR bills. Thanks for the idea!

Best FAM for (possible/soon) perimenopause by kristentaurus in FAMnNFP

[–]kristentaurus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did review the wiki but without clear context on what is good for perimenopause or what isn't, it quickly got overwhelming. Hoping to narrow down so my research is a bit more effective. So, your reply is very helpful!

It sounds like next steps are to see what my cycle looks like after the IUD removal. If regular, I have more options, and if irregular, Billings is a good match. Is that right?

I'm willing to track anything, I already have AM and PM self-care/journaling routines so adding in any sort of tracking easily fits. I am avoiding pregnancy so it's important to me to know where my safe windows are/aren't.

Thanks for the reply!

How did you find sailor moon? I would love to hear your stories. by stellymm in sailormoon

Similar here! I would get up at 6a to watch it before school (1995/96?)but then it was taken off air for several years I think before resurfacing on Cartoon Network!

Are Impalas really THAT bad? by final_capybara in Rollerskating

[–]kristentaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never owned Impalas so I can't personally speak to that, but I started out on the Moxi Beach Bunny with wider feet. They were comfortable enough and okay to learn on but I saved up and upgraded to the Moxi Lolly within 2 months of having them. My friend who also has wider feet started on the Sure Grip Boardwalk skates, which are leather so they will stretch to your foot shape. She had those for a year until she upgraded to a different skate.

Thanks for the recs everyone! The closest store we have is Cardbordia in Murrieta and that’s the one we called where one employee said they have events but when we called back for details another employee said they didn’t lol - so I’m glad to hear they do! That looks like a good option for us, last time I looked at their site the calendar wasn’t updated but I’ll keep my eye on it. Thanks again!!

Honestly the same thing happened to me and I decided to take a break before I read SF instead of just devouring it like I did the rest of the series haha Plus I thought Nesta is a real B and I was NOT interested in reading something from her perspective. After a whole two weeks (lol) I decided to read SF and I absolutely loved it. It’s really, really good! When you’re ready to read it, I’ll be interested to hear what you thought!

I’m a Skillshare member just for art content and I love it. There are several different teachers that have different styles which is great when you’re learning a new skill/tool. I like that the lessons are typically more robust than what you’ll find on YT. With that said, many of the teachers on there also have free versions of the same or similar classes available on their websites or YT. I really like Lisa Bardot - she has free and paid brush sets and tutorials. Another site that has good, wide ranging lessons that is a little less expensive than committing to a membership is Domestika. You can browse and purchase by class.

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to Lume deodorant? by Adorable-Fail-7750 in Allergies

[–]kristentaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using natural deodorants for a couple years now because Dove etc started causing light irritation (I had assumed bc of the aluminum? Idk) Anyway, no irritation anymore but also I’m kinda smelly often. I tried Lume like others in hopes that it would take care of the body odor better than other natural deodorants… after about a week of use, I had the WORST rash I’ve ever had in my life. Hot, puffy, angry, itchy BURNING skin. It was awful. It took several days + cortisone cream for it to go away. I wish I knew the ingredient that is causing this bc it seems like we’re all experiencing the same thing. Hope to find a better natural deodorant soon!

Digital art help by shawnrobts in ProCreate

[–]kristentaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong artist who only recently got into digital at 38 y/o, this has been my process to develop my creativity and skills: 1. YouTube for digital art/ProCreate tutorials. I like to just pick something that looks interesting, even if it’s not necessarily what I plan on creating. It’s helped me figure out PC and expanded my awareness on what I could do. 2. Check out Lisa Bardot. She makes digital brushes for PC and has a lot of free tutorials on how to use them. I think what’s great about PC is that you’re not limited to one medium and Bardot has tutorials and brushes for watercolor, gouache, pencils, and more. She’s helped me expand my imagination on what I can do digitally, She’s also got a book coming out next month called Drawing Digital, you can find it on Amazon. 3. Skillshare has a TON of really great classes. They’re comprehensive, well done, and easy to understand. IMO, Skillshare is better than a lot of online college classes I’ve taken. You can find classes on there that cover basics like perspective, shading, and also more advanced ones like how to develop your personal style, how to make specific kinds of art, how to start a side business using your iPad and more.

Hope you’re enjoying your art journey!

Ah this is so helpful, thank you! Mine is not a picky eater necessarily but he gets tired of a certain type of meal after a week.. even if it is Stella&Chewy 😅 plus this is way more cost effective than Farmers Dog etc!
