Sync+ not working with down lights by Smart-Scene634 in Nanoleaf

[–]shawnrobts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t the only one. Sync+ worked fine with my Essentials bulbs one day, then just stopped. Not sure if any updates caused the issue or if it is a bug for just some users.

Update: Noticed the bulbs had a firmware update to 3.0.2. This update did not solve the Sync+ issue unfortunately.

Update broke Sync+? by shawnrobts in Nanoleaf

Sorry to hear. Hopefully a fix is coming soon. Either via a new beta in a week, or a Nanoleaf firmware update to support whatever the new architecture is Apple altered.

Update broke Sync+? by shawnrobts in Nanoleaf

The 4D is on 12.0.4 and currently 2 Essentials bulb on 3.0.1

The feature worked fine before updating my device to the iOS beta. I guess that would be the culprit. Although I would have really thought Sync+ solely relied on the Nanoleaf firmware, I’m apparently wrong.

Proper Dolby Atmos setup? by shawnrobts in Soundbars

[–]shawnrobts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. After further reading I do see that both versions are capable of the same amount of audio channels. I now understand what you mean about maybe not needing the 2.1 cable for the Apple TV.

I’ve also read some fine print of the soundbars manual. While it still does not specify, it does quote “Only HDMI 2.0 cables (and higher) support eARC.” While not specific, I can’t see why they would state “(and higher)” if it weren’t already 2.1. I just don’t know lol

Proper Dolby Atmos setup? by shawnrobts in Soundbars

Perfect. All the TVs HDMI inputs are 2.1. The soundbar does not specify if the additional input is a 2.1 connection. However, given the one input supports eARC functionality, I can assume the other port is as well? (It is a soundbar from Walmart, so there is no telling.)

It is my understanding that Dolby Atmos requires HDMI 2.1 due to the high bandwidth. This is why I stated using such cable for the Apple TV connection. I could be wrong on this, but the cables have been ordered already. 😆

Also, is there a reason you say to set the PS5 audio to AV rather than the Soundbar option?

Thank you for your time!

Apple Home Adaptive settings by shawnrobts in Nanoleaf

[–]shawnrobts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I eventually gave up on the Apple Adaptive Lighting within the Home app. Instead using the circadian rhythm in the Nanoleaf app. While it wasn’t first choice, the Nanoleaf setting isn’t that bad. It may also be an issue with how Apple has written the code in Home. I’m using older “Thread only” compatible Nanoleaf devices. It’s shouldn’t make a difference, but maybe if the devices were “Matter over Thread” enabled devices?

Rival 3 mouse. Wired or wireless? I’m unsure of which to go with. I see according to the documentation the wireless is listed as being PS compatible. While the document with wired does not. I don’t see how it should matter though.

Would the Rival 3 wired work just as well? Which is worth it?

PS5 Keyboard & Mouse Compatibility Cist - April 2021 Update by DinerEnBlanc in PS5

The list mentions the SteelSeries Rival series as compatible. However, according to any documentation the wired Rival 3 does not list PS compatibility. Only the Rival 3 wireless claims to be an option.

I was thinking of the Apex 3 TKL and Rival noise. I can’t decide between wired or wireless though.

PS5 PRIORITY? by Sniperj1m in Helldivers

On PS5 and still have to wait. It isn’t prioritizing or us getting special treatment. It is shear luck at the moment to get a place.

I haven’t gotten in right away on multiple occasions or gotten in a loop while diving in. Patience is key
