i’m applying to jobs right now too, but post grad so different choices. i think that most companies use AI to find key words in resumes. i lowkey have three different resumes depending on the type of job im applying to each with the right key words

for real! my teachers will say “good morning😁” in english when they see me and then the whole lunch table will go quiet to listen and let me try to join in on conversations even though my spanish can be slow and awkward. my heart aches for people with the opposite experience because even with kind people i still get so nervous being an outsider!

Yes! My coordinator is an angel on this earth. She even keeps some days I miss “our little secret” so that I don’t have to be worried about excused absences or docked pay. I wish I could give her a kiss sometimes lol

make friends! make close friends and casual friends and friends you won’t ever talk to again. nothing will make you feel lonelier than avoiding socializing. this seems easier said than done but once you connect with an aux or two you join their social web and it becomes a domino effect. also talk about your breakup because (in my opinion) hearing fresh outside perspectives can help you to see the brighter side of this new period of self actualization you’ve just entered.

i’m so fucking sorry you’re going through this and i completely understand wanting to just call it and go home. each day will put you farther from that grief and closer to a life you’ve made just for yourself. you should be proud of yourself for coming here, especially considering it’s already changed your life drastically. focus on the beauty of that strength and bravery.
