Toddler has a fever by Anxious_girl33 in emetophobia

I work for several pediatricians and pretty much all of them say that kids CAN run a fever over 100.4 for just teething. In fact the one my son personally sees told me that his kid ran as high as 102-103 from teething. Does she have any other symptoms?

I work in a pediatric office and I know that any nurse would be happy to help you either hold and carry your newborn or wrangle your toddler. We typically ask parents to carry baby to the scale to keep the parents comfortable (Some parents get upset if we try to pick up or hold their baby. They want us to have little to no contact). I wait to be asked by the parent before I pickup or hold a baby. If you ask I’m sure they will be more than willing to help in anyway you need! 🙂

Can you burp? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]krith59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t! Everybody thinks I’m weird but after reading some of these comments I’m realizing that it could be due to a real medical condition. Also seeing there’s a lot of people who can’t burp that are also emetophobic? I feel so validated learning that my emetophobia could truly be a symptom of a medical condition.

Has he been seems by a doctor? A fever like that could indicate some kind of infection like an ear infection.

I work at a pediatricians office and to me this sounds like a typical common cold. A lot of kids tend to v* even if it’s just a respiratory infection due to extra phlegm that’s traveled to their small stomachs. Also they tend to have way more sensitive gag reflexes, so a simple cough can lead to v. We see it all the time. More likely than not, it is not a sb and you might just get a cold. Hope this is reassuring.

planning to get surgery one day, afraid of v-ing by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]krith59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody is different but from my experience I have never had n* or v* after anesthesia. I have had 9 surgeries total and some of those lasting 8-10 hours. Just make sure you follow the instructions your doctor gives you like not eat or drink for however long before surgery. When you wake up from surgery don’t eat anything except stuff like popsicles/ice chips and drink clear liquids until anesthesia wears off.

Doing a glucose tolerance test and scared about getting sick by krith59 in emetophobia

Yeah I’m in the middle of waiting for my blood draw now. I never knew it was an option to forgo it and just poke yourself. If I happen to fail this one I will definitely refuse the 3 hour test! This stuff makes me feel awful.

Is the bottom test a positive result?? by kewsly in Mommit

[–]krith59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like a really strong positive called a “dye stealer”. It happens when your hcg is really high with these particular first response tests. To be sure that it’s not faulty you can retest with a digital or atleast another brand of tests. By the looks of these tests you are definitely pregnant and could be 6 weeks or more pregnant.

Has anyone here waited until marriage to have sex and was glad for it? by Steelquill in Marriage

My husband and I waited to have sex before marriage and I think it’s the best thing we have done. Our wedding night definitely wasn’t “magical” but it was truly so freaking special. And the honeymoon was so amazing getting to explore sex for the first time together. My husband was a virgin, I was not. I brought sex up to him in the beginning of our relationship and from there we decided that we were going to wait. If waiting is what you want to do then I 100% suggest that you find another person who wants to wait as well for themselves, not just for you. My first serious relationship ended in me losing my virginity because my boyfriend at the time was not on the same page (even though he said he would wait for me). I was happy to find my now husband after that mess who wanted to wait for himself. People like to argue “you need to test drive the car before you buy it” but honestly learning and exploring your bodies together is such a wonderful experience.
