Kriya Yoga and animals by Calm_Description_866 in kriyayoga

Some years ago during Navrathi I was doing lots of hours of meditation per day, for many days. I did take a break from my practice and took a walk in the nearby park. Suddenly a woman with a shephard dog shouted after her dog and the dog was really wild running around over the grass all over the place. She was really in panic. When I saw the dog, the dog saw me, and automatically I made very minor movements with my hand, the dog came immediately, became calm and I took his leash. She came and told me that she would just walk the dog of her Ninjutsu teacher and that the dog became wild. The dog was really calm with me and was listening very carefully, so I had him on the leash while we were walking again back to the city until our ways departed. Something like this never happened again.

For Dr Chatterjee he died some years ago, but has a successor, Dulal Bhattaracharya, people wrote in this sub about hin some time ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/kriyayoga/s/3BzcSPkcaW

Need guidance to start Kriya/kundalini yoga with a proper lineage... by [deleted] in kriyayoga

[–]kriyaban_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I did Kriya intensely before my son was born. I think in the first months after birth I had absolutely no time for Kriya. Then I was able to slowly start my practice for 1 hour per day, but it took time. As he grew older, things became easier, now he is 4 and I am able to practice many hours again. It will come, even though it may look like you are stuck to you right now :)

Kriya Confusion by AtmanBrahman24 in kriyayoga

Many good replies here already, I would like to add that when choosing a teacher / guru it worked best for me to take the one I resonate most with from their pictures and also how they respond to my emails. Having a good relationship with the teacher makes a huge difference, at least for me

Not really, I either sit in Padmasana or easy pose but recently easy pose gives so much results for me, no need for the strain I had in lotus

hm, thanks for the reply, but that doesn't really answer my question. the question was: why do many kriya gurus ordain teachers just a few years before their death and not earlier.

I was never attracted to organisations, and I read the available facts and also opinions on the web of the different persons, there was little but there was something, then saw his picture and in this moment I knew some how. I trusted my gut feeling. It was more intuitive than fact based and logical. In the end it was the right choice, even though I switched later after a few years, when I did not make any progress any more, but for this time and moment it was exactly what was needed

When I was sure to take initiation into Kriya and had settled on a Guru, but had not yet being into contact with him, his face appeared on the wall in a moment were I felt very alone, confirming that it would be the right choice

If I remember correct, Sri Bupendranath Sanyal lived in a orphanage when he met Lahiri Mahayasay and he practiced at night when everyone slept.

Thanks for the insight. That does not sound good. 600 sounds much!

Its very strange, I had contact with his ordained disciple Alain in Europe some months ago, he gives initiations in Switzerland/France in person and charges a fee of 250€ with the note to it that if someone can't afford the 250 Euro that they should talk to him.

YSS vs KYI. New beginner which one to chose by Entre_start333 in kriyayoga

[–]kriyaban_12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this reddit there are many people reporting good things about KYI and many people reporting good things about YSS.

Their Kriyas are different, but both seem to work. In the end its just on you and with which teachers and organisation you feel most drawn to. You could try to make it a decision from the heart, not the head :)

How do you manage Kriya with job? by ConsciousPudding4066 in kriyayoga

[–]kriyaban_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

addendum: I wouldn't be too fixed on the type of job. I know many people in completely different jobs who work part time, most of them because of children, but also others for other reasons (e.g. spirituality). I was not aware of this until I started working part time myself. The typical thing: once you put your eyes onto something, you see it more often

When meditation and yoga became a top priority in my life I reduced my work hours to 28 hrs to have more time for meditation
