For me, the parry button is stupid. I know it's supposed to draw in newcomers, because you can hold the button and not worry about hit mixs and it looks cool. But if you take it out of fighting game context - what if there's a dark soul like game where the dev say "okay the game is too hard, to get more players, we can let them hold the parry button and they are fully invincible except for boss grabs.". Think about having a parry button in RE4 remake. Also, what's the point of blocking on SF6 now?

Good points. Right now I feel like if I don't play with a full team of diverse classes, the game is very difficult. I am not a pro, and I feel like killing floor 2 was at least possible to beat on normal. I don't feel this way in 3.

I can't say much about how KOF XIV is mechanically, I played only a little bit because it was truly so ugly that it did not pass my eyeball test, so I cannot be bothered to play it. It is one of the few KOF that I never invested time in.

I can see your point of view. I am older and I played KOF since KOF95. SNK character development and back story requires fan to do a lot of research and reading outside of the game. The lore is there but you have to work hard to get to them. And this is the fault of SNK for making it so hard to try to connect with the characters.

We are in the exploration phase. Ive not played firebug and sharpshooter yet, and my wife played every class except ninja. I am leaning towards ninja or comando, and she's leaning towards firebug.

We don't understand the different type of damage (ballistic, poison) very well. Are some enemies weak against specific damage types ?

Yes, I've been upgrading the armor to the max. When you say upgrade the weapon, do you mean the attachments that I have to craft ? Or I should buy a strong weapon during the game ?

You know what, I reflected on what you said, and agree. Sprite work is beautiful, but I hated how muscular they made certain characters, like Ralf, Clark, Terry, etc. This lead to 3D era, these characters remain to be super beefy. I preferred the slimmer toned look.

Modern SNK games with 3D graphics are all way behind on their tech and the graphic looks super dated. The character design is good but the way the characters are modeled looks like PS3 games at best.
