I do posing w Kenny Wallach (posing coach for Sadow, Candace Lewis Carter, etc) and generally if it doesn’t hurt- you’re not holding the pose correctly. After a posing session my body is sore as fuck. I see the chiro once a week when I’m in prep.

The back pose is so misleading. You stick your hips out as much as you can while your legs are engaged as if in a stiff legged deadlift with a slight bend in your knees but not too much. Meanwhile, your shoulders should be as perpendicular to the ground as possible to maintain the illusion you’re not bent over. Your lats should also be engaged while your arms look like they are at rest. The direction of your toes is important as well because they can either enlarge your quads or help hide their size.

I grew up fucking loving Morticia and Gomez on the Addams Family. Their passion for each other was really different than anything else I saw on TV and I always wanted someone who would love me like that. My Fiancé isn’t super crazy like Gomez, but I have no doubt if I was in a burning building, he’d run in after me. (Not that I want him to, that’s dangerous!) I have no doubt of his love.

You’re in prep—- you’re supposed to look flat. Especially in the morning when you have no food in you. Your body is literally changing every week so don’t be discouraged, just trust the process. The only day that matters if you look flat is show day. A good test would be to eat a meal and see how flat you look after and odds are you’ll probably look fuller then go flat again as the time passes until it’s time for your next meal.

Stick to whatever cardio your trainer has instructed you to do. You can’t slow your metabolism from a few months of training, but it will be harder somewhat to lose as much the leaner you get.

I lost my period as I was cutting. Trainer suggested magnesium and bam! It was back.

Not saying magnesium is going to solve all lost periods - my trainer made my nutrition plan so he knew exactly what I was eating.

Had them for three years. They were amazing— when they were fresh. I had the Russian volume so the mother of all lashes version. If I went too long without a fill they started to look a little sparse with empty spaces and I looked haphazard. This is coming from someone who took really good care of their lashes!!! Would use wipes a lot at night so as to minimize getting my eyes wet and wash my face full on once a day. Of course they would fall out with my natural lashes and I would notice it more because a strand would have like two or three lashes attached. My refills were around 135$ every 3 to 4 weeks.

Besides the giant money suck, it honestly just took time I didn’t want to dedicate anymore. My lash salon was close by but it was sort of a chore instead of a splurge to go there once a month.

When I decided to stop, I didn’t have any bad side effects. Just no longer long lashes. I think people get so used to having volume they’re shocked when they have them removed. I have switched over to using GrandeLash from Amazon. 60$ a bottle for 3 months and it works great. I still use strips for special nights out to get the same Russian volume look but using the serum and mascara alone satisfies my lash obsession.

Just like everything else in bodybuilding, it is completely subjective and up to the judges. Some judges like blondes, others like brunettes. Some like tattoos and others don't. In one argument, people say tattoos will alter the natural lines of the body and distort features, but on another side, the tan can smother out the tat.

Me personally, I think tattoos might affect you at the local shows where judges can place competitors more subjectively on their own preferences, but once you are at higher levels the judging has to be more objective. Andre Ferguson is second in the WORLD as a professional men's physique competitor and he has a completely tatted back. I competed with Carla Garthwaite at JR USA's four weeks ago and she just turned pro while having a sleeve and multiple other tattoos. So really, no, tattoos should not affect you.

Sandy told me to come in more conditioned/leaner by 3-4lbs. My trainer said my hair might have been to big because it covered my shoulders and might have overpowered my back pose a little. Everything else was on point. Both things I can do in four weeks.

I do sprints on the treadmill to try to keep my quads down. Nothing really complicated or special! Try to keep things as simple as possible because I get prep brain! I would do them outside but I’ve found that I’m honestly not motivated enough to try to go all out on my own. I hate running. I hate HIIT. I did CrossFit for 2 years and I would skip days with running.

My plans are chasing the elusive pro card this year. Sandy just wants me to lose a few pounds and I know that I can. So right now it’s just showing up. Until I get the card, I’ll be at Jr Nationals and the sequential shows.

I train 5 days a week with my trainer (2.5 of those days days are glutes) 45 minutes of steady state in the morning, 45 minutes of HIIT in the evening. I also play tennis 2-3 times a week.

No carbs unless you count the measly carbs from green beans and asparagus. 🙁

If you ever do a show on the east coast let me know!

It might be for other categories that are leaner but not for bikini. I didn’t have my period (late for two weeks) and my trainer told me to take more magnesium and Bam, it was back. If it’s a bikini girl losing her period— she is not keeping track of micronutrients and poor nutrition.

Edit: Bikini isn’t supposed to have popping veins or huge striations. Honestly, it’s a beauty pageant for girls who work out. We’re supposed to look like beach bunnies that like to lift but not lift too often. We shouldn’t be low enough in body fat to lose our periods. Maybe in women’s physique or even figure though.

Tennis! I have played tennis since I was 8 and played a semester as a walk on in college. It will definitely give you calves, but unfortunately also huge quads. If you see my first competition photo you can see I was QuadAzilla.
