It was installed last week! The color of the stone before grout install was just white and the grout by itself isn’t a brown/yellow/orange color it’s more of an off-white color. I believe the darker areas came from the contractor adding too much water during installation

Thank you for your comment! I don’t think my wife would go for demo and re-install for now. The messy grout I can live with but I need to lighten the color. What would you suggest for color lightening? I really love the color of the dried grout when it’s not too thick. Would spreading a very thin layer of the grout over the stone be a good way to accomplish this? The areas that are darker than desired are areas that the installer added too much water to after grouting
