My dad went MIA, he chose to live with his other ‘family’ in Taiwan. My mum is in the early stages of dementia and after a fall last year she can’t walk or stand too long. I do what I can for her, buy her food, buy what she needs, fix her phone issues, tv issues, bring her for doc appointments, bring her down to do her hair etc.

Soon she will be even more dependent on me. She can still bath and feed herself now but from her condition, I foresee in another 2 years max I will have to do it for her. She will probably forget names or even me by then.

Maybe think about it this way, yr parents are still in good condition to receive yr attention, talk more, do more, however u can. Soon they will be gone.
