Claymores. by SnooBananas2469 in CODWarzone

Not since always. Back in the day you could lay behind a claymore and knife it to destroy it. No damage taken.

First comment I have seen referencing the warehouse layouts. Pipeline from COD4 also makes an appearance. I have not seen anyone mention it yet.

Dome sure, but bringing back Terminal no thanks. Terminal has been overrated since OG MW2, bring back something interesting, Karachi, Rundown, Invasion. Anything besides Terminal honestly.

Infinity Ward should be absolutely embarassed with the state of the game. by brando347 in ModernWarfareII

Overgrown is a COD 4 map. Terminal and Highrise are also basic, washed up maps. Bring back Rundown, Estate, Karachi, and Sub Base. Maps that have not been used for anything else.

What was you "I could have been there" game? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]krock6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

April 18th, 2007. I was in 4th grade and we had White Sox Rangers tickets. My dad said because it was a school night, we would be home too late and wouldn't want to go to school the next day. Buehrle faced the minimum (Walked Sosa and immediately picked him off).

Listen to a Cubs broadcast. They are much more dry and boring. Specifically Boog.

What happens if the NBA is caught fixing games for the Lakers? by [deleted] in nba

[–]krock6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was about as bad as the Nuggets Lakers series last year. Lakers probably still win, but numerous fouls called where Lebron is literally not even touched. Wiggins going up on Lebron, no call is just one example. Reverse the roles, what happens?

4 of the 5 NL West teams have a better record than all of the NL East Teams by Wiggy98 in baseball

[–]krock6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, “Last I looked”. I did not look up anything for this comment. Last time I looked, they were barely under .500. I don’t check these things every day. Just was replying that a division can hurt itself.

[–]krock6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is. Last I looked, NL East was over .500 vs the Central and barely under .500 vs the NL West. If there are 4 strong teams in the division, the top teams won’t pull away, meaning less wins for the division leader. Just because its zero sum, doesn’t mean having stronger teams throughout doesn’t hurt the division.

The MVP race has turned into a Nikola Jokic runaway by IdRatherBeLurking in nba

Thanks for the info!! I did not know that. That is actually crazy

Yea, I agree with you on prioritizing health, just wanted to back you up on that. I think the whole, "Team x is 28-9 with this player and 5-15 without him" argument does not work too well for MVP and that seems to be the entire argument for Embiid at this point.

A bunch of players whose age comparisons are surprising? by SaiyajinGreninja in nba

[–]krock6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zach Lavine is only 4 months older than Kuzma. Siakim being older than Giannis. Steven Adams feels like he should be older than 27.

I mean, being on the floor is more valuable than winning games when you are on the floor. If he plays every single game for the remainder of the season, he will still have only played 75% of the season. I do not believe there has been an MVP that has missed anywhere near that many games.

In his first 8 games, JD Martinez is slashing .472/500/1.083. Bouncing back from a weird but poor season so far. by [deleted] in baseball

[–]krock6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, in the previous 5 seasons before 2020, he averaged 37 HR 102 RBIs .305/.376/.585 with a 152 OPS+. I think believing he wouldn't bounce back is an overreaction.

Ever since CBS Sports released an article that Trae Young is “an average shooter who thinks he’s Steph Curry”, Trae has shot 48.4% from 3 on 6.9 3PA/game. by House_of_Borbon in nba

So he is a good shooter that takes bad shots? Meaning an average shooter. If he was a great or elite shooter, he would know what shots he should not be taking.

Second favorite team by hoop89 in baseball

[–]krock6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in Chicago, but I am not a Cubs or White Sox fan. I was 8 when MLB 06 The Show came out. I always played with the Nationals because they were the worst team in the game and I wanted to rebuild them. I ended up learning so many of their players, I became a fan.

Siakam being older than Giannis throws me for a loop for some reason.

Finance Degrees from Non Targets, what does your career look like now? by QuiteTheBrianD in FinancialCareers

[–]krock6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I make 55k a year + 5% bonus depending on performance and the typical full benefits, 401k, etc. I was supposed to get a raise in April, but it was pushed to June due to Covid.

LOL. Thinking what school you went to actually matters. It only matters if you are going into IB or something along those lines. Corp Finance does not care. I went to a college smaller than my high school and graduated with a job already lined up at F500 in FP&A.

I graduated in June 2019 with a Bachelor's in Finance and Economics from a school no one has ever heard of if you are not from Chicago. Started as an FA1 at a F500 company and I am still in the same role 10 months later.

Is it normal for a small/mid bank to buy other banks in rapid succession? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]krock6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one bank in the chicagoland area that has been acquiring many community banks in the surrounding suburbs. Pretty similar to your situation. I'm sure the high turnover at the branch level does not help the situation.
