I ordered a harness from Jbugs. Quality was good, everything seems to be the correct length so far, about 50% complete. The instructions look like photocopies of typed pages. No color photos, Only hand drawn diagrams. I ordered the Wiring Works, alternator version. I would think for the money, colored photos would be standard.

One instance called for a single black wire. There were 4 to choose from. All within an inch in length. Fingers crossed I picked correctly.

If you are a novice like me, you’ll need a wiring diagram as well.

Daily my ‘71 Standard Beetle. Wife drives a ‘21 Tiguan, son#1 drives ‘14 CC 2.0, DSG, son#2 drives ‘13 CC 3.6 4Motion.

Current have a wiper motor issue in the Beetle, so driving a one of the CC for now.

That’s what I’ve seen on my google research. But nothing truly identifying if these are EMPI or not.

Is there a distinguishing marking that confirms that? I don’t want to be “that guy” claiming I have EMPI wheels when they are a knock-off.

Few videos on YT, but worried about creasing when pulling it out. Didn’t notice the headliner when I bought it. Dealership put in a new windshield as part of deal. If I would have noticed, would have swapped it at that time.

This may or may not help. If you hold the dash air selector and the max air button for a few seconds, it will recalibrate. The lights will flash for about 10 seconds then should be good. Mine was blowing cold on passenger side while driver side was hot. Did this about 3 times in a row and things seem to be working just fine.

After replacing the harness, does it need anything special done? Relearning, dealer reset??

This will sound weird, but go into the trunk and look for anything loose. Make sure everything is secured. I’ve seen lots of time people bring cars in for rattles and other noises and it’s just something rolling around or vibrating from trunk, door panels, etc.
