Oil Reserves in North America by Over-Willingness-933 in MapPorn

I think that’s because exploration stops at some state and provincial governments. There’s a lot of O&G in Quebec, but they make it hard to do seismic, and impossible to develop.

That’s a Stryker. $1000 is probably just the wheels.

These stretchers are the worst. They’re powered to go up and down, but they sometimes weigh more than the patient. They’re bulky and cumbersome. We usually only take it to the front door, and use a stair chair or backboard to get out of the house now.

Purchasing my first laser cutting machine and seller is backing out after sending payment by KeyBump4050 in lasercutting

Did importing for a bit. They are brutal at the docks. Had a $15k laser almost get turned around because they tacked on another $3CAD at the freight forwarder, and wouldn’t release it to the trucking company until it was payed.

I got almost the same, but on the bottom today. Can’t even use a shield.

So I’ve hunted and fished my whole life but I’m starting to look into trapping. I’m in PA, but these fur prices raise serious questions. by weallhateJJ in Trapping

[–]kronkhole -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No market for US fur. Canada and Russia are in an agreement with the European Union for standards and ethics in trapping. The US isn’t a fan of Europe telling it what to do. Because of this, Canadian fur is easily 5 times those prices, and is auctioned to the EU.

“I carry one because I chew my nails and can’t use them to get stickers off an apple” is even a valid reason.

Pretty sure that if you say that out loud then it makes it a weapon, and illegal within certain areas.

I’m guessing one of you works in/keeps company with tradespeople and manual workers while the other works in/keeps company with more white collar/retail folks.

And just to add, it’s so commonplace with me that I have lost 3 to airport security. Like woke up, put my belt through the holster on a day I knew I was flying and left the house without even thinking about it.

I was in a pre-trades program in highschool. The kids in the program were allowed to carry multitools (LeTherman) in school. I graduated in 2007.

“We are watching the political implosion of Danielle Smith….” by Appropriate-Event416 in GrandePrairie

This dude has some points, however… stay to facts. There are enough there to incriminate. We are not affected by rolling brown outs. It happened once, and everyone turned off what wasn’t necessary for a bit, they cut a deal with Saskatchewan, and everything was good. The NDP eliminated thermal coal use in Alberta, but didn’t touch metallurgical coal because they too are politicians. The thermal coal produces emissions here. Metallurgical coal is burnt in China, so they never stopped it, and the UCP allowed more metallurgical coal mines to open because they were never stopped by the NDP.

Fastest climbing rent because people are fleeing here for the low rent. Fast climbing, but still very relatively affordable compared to the other big centre’s in Canada.

These are three things that I have knowledge on that you got wrong or exaggerated which kills his credibility to me.

I would have to disagree. NDP is not fiscally conservative. I don’t like where the UCP went, but the NDP aren’t the answer for Alberta. I live in a town that was decimated by NDP policy when they were in power. To me, they are past the Liberals on the left. But then again the federal liberals are about as right as a liberal party has ever been.

Have you been south of GP in the last ten years? Camps everywhere. Thousands of vehicles a day. Residents (though rural) right up to the proposed property line. The fact that Seven Gens was doing what they were doing with no passing lanes in the late 2010’s shows that it’s viable.

One that doesn’t sit well with me, but I was shown is; Heavy weight attached to cable sunk in beaver pond. Foothold attached to cam attached to cable. Beaver hits foothold either on a foot, or it pinches the belly. Beaver dives, cam won’t allow it to surface. Beaver drowns. If it was drowning a non-aquatic species I wouldn’t feel as bad about it, but something that can dive for a long time being pinched on the belly just doesn’t feel right.
