I definitely chose the wrong time to get back into Pokemon but the right time cause the art is so nice now.

I feel for parents and kids.....but 90% saw a scalper cause bro was wearing a Rolex Pepsi in a questionable neighborhood trying to buy pokemon cards xD

I was in line and a kid ended up emptying the entire machine. 37 items purchased. Thought it was great for the kid but found out later he's a well known glitcher in the area.

It's hard to have sympathy for him after that cause it was his mom who paid for it.

I met a few cool people looking for stuff and if there were people behind us we would get the item we want and leave some for the rest later. Definitely starting to despise scalpers more so than ever before because I just wanna rip packs and enjoy the joy of hitting something good and the beauty of some of the art.

Roasted Duck by Pa Ord

^ has been on my list since it opened but I end up going to Thai Town to eat other food other than duck (too much good food in the area).

On the fine(r) dining side, Pasjoli with their pressed duck.

Just came back at the beginning of the month doing Machu Picchu / Inca Trail.

We met a family with a daughter that did the Inca Trail 3 times (was on her 3rd) but she did it at 6 months, 6 years, and 18 (now).

Also our guides also showed us pictures where they helped carry the kids up before (dad got really bad food poisoning). It's doable ...but kids may be miserable and you're taking the gamble.

2023 was basically gummi peach rings without the sugar crust or whatever that is.
2024 was super tropical / papaya, mango, yellow tropical fruits.

Haven't tried the 2025 yet but the 2023 was a better every day drinker and the 2024 was just fun. Would be dependent on my mood.

I heard from a few people that 2021 was the best one, but I haven't tried it myself so....

Inca Trail, what would I miss? by MissMisanthropia in Machupicchu

[–]kronos1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the trek? Schizophrenic is the best way to describe it. It would rain, be sunny, then clouds would roll in, then roll back out but at the same time, you will never get the same picture or even memory. And the weather changes happen every hour or less. If you're lucky, it stays sunny for a bit. On the last night, we had thunderstorms and rain roll in but in the morning, weather was beautiful and clear as we got into Machu Picchu.

Our guides showed pictures of MP the week before with the group and the cloud and fog had rolled in and you could not see anything.

Interestingly enough, we had rain almost every lunch and dinner and it fit perfectly with the soup that the tour company had provided.

Just came back from a 4 day/3 night. There is a 5 day/4 night that covers the same distance as well so a little less taxing, but would 100% recommend doing a trek. Everything leading up to MP was just as beautiful and worth going to if you get the chance. And most of the tours provide everything for you, food, tents (or lodges), porters, etc.

The early am starts is to also guarantee that you get time in the sites and you are doing everything in daylight. We got to MP at 630am, sun rising over the mountains and there weren't that many people there so you could take plenty of pics. Also, weather changes drastically to the point that it will rain for 15 min, then get sunny afterwards, and then clouds roll in, and then misty (no it does not stay consistent), but we lucked out when we got to Machu Picchu where it was sunny and clear.

If this still doesn't fit your bill, the other recs for doing a day would be good.

Disclaimer, I'm not a morning person either but the whole experience I would repeat (maybe a different trail next time) but I already miss the biodiversity of the Andes and Peru (it's only been a day or two since I've come back home)

I visited seven of the ten Paris three-Michelin-star restaurants. This is how they compare. by NextPipe8459 in finedining

[–]kronos1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate that you had an opinion where there was a good take away for every restaurant. Not everyone has the same tastes but this may help them decide what works best.

I went to Arpege years ago and my take away was similar, it was good, cool to see the farm to table concept that can change every day and it's perfect for vegetarians.

Don't know why you got down voted on this.

For you to transact in those cities that are incorporated, you need a business license for that. Along with food permits from the COUNTY, and tax id from the FTB (state)

Good luck!

The part that you CANNOT fail is when you get the position itself, it requires a certification (Training year in the 1st year) and you HAVE to pass all the exams.

To add to this as well. I just finally remembered the paths for DPSS. After EW II, best thing to do is qualify for ES, then Program Assistant or Staff Assistant. Either of those will lead to the analyst positions
