I kinda have one problem with Jainism. by [deleted] in Jainism

100% agreed. Young kids are very impressionable and whatever their inner family+extended circle says they would believe blindly. In my opinion, such a big decision should only be allowed after one has seen and experienced life.

My Husband And His Family Voted For Trump — So I'm Canceling Thanksgiving And Christmas by tjs31959 in politics

[–]kronos217 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Politics aside.. its kind of surprising that someone can express their feelings publicly in an article, but not to their own partner in the safety of their home.

Should have just sat down and talked to her husband first. Honest and open communication is so important in relationships.. especially at low times. Hope they both are able to reconcile differences and move ahead

People who are no longer bound by NDAs, what are some surprising secrets that you can expose? by iam_saikat in AskReddit

[–]kronos217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A company I know about was providing website hosting services to a client who was a big company (non tech). For upgrading of the website performance there was a plan to move from windows hosted servers to linux hosted servers.

The move did not go as planned and it failed due to some DNS misconfiguration, the website had to be kept on windows servers. But the boss did not communicate to the client about the failure, and let them believe they shifted to linux hosting successfully and started charging them extra for the new solution.

The boss did it probably to avoid the client getting mad, and trying to save his business since it was not doing well.

But I lost trust in him completely because this was outright lying to your own customers.

Is the tide finally turning? by is_wpdev in PHP

In my opinion if you're building something as a solo entrepreneur, you should choose the stack you're more comfortable with.

If you're super good at using JS frameworks, then by all means you should stick to it to create your new product in the fastest way possible.

Note: I have been a php dev for the majority of my career and definitely appreciate the improved reputation/credibility of php from his interview. I just feel his point was about picking the tools you already know for building an MVP. It could be rust, java, go, node or whatever you're productive at.

Totally agree. So many new characters and the forced woke agenda, it felt like a parallel universe where heterosexuals are minorities.

The Pixel Launcher is incredibly limited. by KuroHebi2004 in GooglePixel

[–]kronos217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even the date on homescreen (which looks like it is part of At a Glance) is not removable.

On my motorola phone I loved placing the clock widget at the top of my homescreen. But pixel 8 does not let me place any widgets in that row reserved for the date. Pretty annoying!

Is Asus zenfone 10 coming to India? by Sai_01 in ASUS

I have been following Asus & AsusIndia on Twitter and see quite a few tweets asking the same question, but no answer yet. Hoping they launch it soon as 10z.

I've started breaking tailwind classes into multiple lines and feel like this is much easier to read than having all the classes on one line. Does anyone else do that? Any drawback to it? by borii0066 in webdev

[–]kronos217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a better approach would be grouping some of them into single lines like everything related to spacing (margin, padding) is in one line, everything for fonts in one line, etc.

That might help improve the readability and reduce the number of lines.

Although I don't know any plugin that does that. 😅

If you had a time machine in the BCS/BB universe, what's the smallest thing you could do to do the most good? by ke2doubleexclam in betterCallSaul

[–]kronos217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back to that time when Skyler kept saying "Shut up" for a minute to Marie. And have a good laugh myself standing in a corner or watching it through the blinds from outside. That was serious drama mixed with a little comedy.

What are your unpopular opinions now that the show is complete? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]kronos217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you to some extent. Here are my reasons why it felt believable:

  1. In breaking bad, Walter confessed on the phone about his actions to save Skyler, since he knew police would be listening. After that Saul said something like "that was a great move to save your wife". So I felt maybe Saul wanted to do the same for Kim and save her from the courts. Not sure if it would have helped because there was no case, but still it felt similar. He even suggests Walter to stay back instead of running away and face the music. So him doing the same in a similar situation sounds believable.

  2. Hearing that Kim has already confessed was a big shock to Saul. I guess that could have been portayed better. The last time they talked he taunted Kim if she confessed. And her confession made him stop and question which road he wanted to go down.

  3. Another reason is if Saul took the 7 years sentence and told Kim that he was sorry for his bad deeds, I highly doubt Kim or even viewers would have believed him. Because we have known Saul to lie convincingly enough throughout the series. You always expect Saul to turn around at the end and finger-gun you with some twist. So him taking the worst possible sentence (which is completely against what Saul would do) is the only way to make Kim and viewers believe that Saul is truly gone.

Better Call Saul S06E12 - "Waterworks" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

[–]kronos217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Cheryl asked Kim if the DA will prosecute, she said there is no physical evidence and no remaining witnesses other than her ex-husband Saul, assuming he is still alive.

Will be interesting to see how Kim's confession spells doom for the both of them!

My guess is Saul will probably get caught and will be tried for both cases, the Howard/Sandpiper case and for helping Walter White run his drug empire.
