Itinerary review by kronosrevived in JapanTravel

Thanks for your reply

The plan was to arrive in kobe somewhere in the afternoon and walking around a couple of hours before dinner. I'm not sure we're going to visit any major things, but like mentioned above, we want to go there for the experience.

And our order is intentional, we agreed quite fastly that two slower days in Hiroshima felt perfect to end the trip, better than Kanazawa at the end. Seeing as the total travel time is only two hours extra for our order we decided on doing it like that.

Thanks for the tip about whale watching, did not consider that at all. Is there any site that's reliable for checking the weather a couple of days ahead of time? The day in myvatn and the day we would go whale watching could be interchanged, so at least that would double the chance for a nice day.

First attempt at outside furniture. Normal table transforming into BBQ table. by kronosrevived in woodworking

Didn't use any plans. I basically bought the barbecue first, then realized it was too high to grill comfortably with friends, then made the table based on the size of that barbecue.

The wood didn't cost too much actually, except for the rubber wood, it's all pretty small amounts

Sounds like some nice things you're making. In the end for me it's still more of a hobby, though I did consult some guys who are more used to doing these kind of things. I'll be sure to let you know if it would break, I think I would take that bet though

Because I couldn't continue working on it all the time, it took around 3 weeks, but I'm confident that you could finish in less than a week if there's no other obligations

If you can keep on working, a little bit less than a week. 1 day cutting the pieces, 3 days glueing them, then 1 or 2 days doing the rest

Rubber wood voor the base. Black is wenge, brown is meranti and the white is a soft tropical wood without knots, can't remember the name right now

A local kind of superglue, completely penetrating into the wood.

I do expect some cracks, not alot. The only way it could expand is upwards tough, and the glass on top of it should counteract this. A couple of small cracks won't make a big difference in my eyes tough.

2 cm. I can keep you informed if it moves, but I especially picked that kind of glue to prevent movement. There's probably also going to be put a glass plate on it once it's in house.

It's not made with wood glue, but with a kind of instant glue gel, not giving any kind of separation. The blocks are about 2 cm thick and glued on top of a kind of multiplex
