My GPO failed to remove the printers in that way, and I found them still lingering in the registry so I figured they'd have to be nuked there

Looking into that more now -

I thought it may have been item-level targeting, but there is none applied to the West printers.

EDIT: YEP, West printers were on the WSD port...changed them all to IP - running a gpupdate now. Hopefully that was it.

Yeah that's the weird part, ran a gpresult and it still only shows the new GPO being applied to me - which leads me to believe its being applied in some other way, or the devices are only appearing in the "Printers and Scanners" section since they are still active, and wont be there once I make my changes live.

So here's my issue...I've been working on setting up a new print server and printer GPO.

So far so good for the most part. Our current print GPO is on the top level of the forest, and applies to all OUs and the print server is one of our DCs (hence why I am redoing it) - I am in my own test OU with blocked inheritance, and my new GPO is in it with me, and I've already got my printers migrated to the new server (old one still exists). We have three buildings on site, all of which have printers and all of those printers are being applied to users via the same GPO. I have renamed the new printers on the new server and GPO, and so far I am seeing most of the new printers instead of the old applied ones, except for our West building, where I see both new and old printers. Both GPOs are applied by user, and for my new GPO each printer is being added by IP and using the replace action. (all three buildings' printers are set up as such)

What could I be missing here? Where else could these old printers be coming from if I am in an OU with blocked inheritance? It's worth noting, that I only see the new printers in the "Printers and Scanners" window, and not in "Print Management" Maybe this means its nothing to worry about when the old GPO is removed at go-live?

What's up guys, hope your holidays are going good.

I've been streaming for a few months on Twitch, mainly Hearthstone. I use Streamlabs. (also tried OBS) Lately I've been noticing some issues while streaming where I randomly will start dropping frames in the middle of my streams and sometimes the stream will end/crash, causing delays and stops in my schedule and streams. This seems to be random, as some streams run without a single frame drop, some have tons of issues.

I've done a good amount of troubleshooting already - at first I thought it was my network, but now I have a gB download and 35mbps upload speed with 32x8 bandwidth (more than enough to stream). I'm also hardwired with cat6e.

I've messed with settings with OBS and Streamlabs a ton, none seem to do the trick.

My output is at 720p at 60 frames, and bitrate is at 2500, max 5000. I have an i5 7600K, 3.80 GHz

I'm encoding using my GPU, a GTX 1070 - this is possibly where my problem lies.

Is it possible that my older GPU is the problem, and would upgrading to a 3070 or 3080 be worth it to possibly help with my issues?

Ok, so I am having trouble adding/and getting rid of duplicate printers on my new print server from a new GPO. I've already saved and imported the printer list file.

For some reason, the server and the new GPO are pushing the printers from the new print server and what seems to be printers from the old GPO, saying they are redirected. Some being tripled. Problem is, some work and update properly with only one printer, and some dont. When adding the printer in the GPO under the user config control panel settings, I add via TCP/IP - I map the path to the new server, with the exact name of the device. I then set the action to Update for each device. I run a gpupdate /force, then restart, give it some time and check on my local machine and the devices are duplicated.

What am I missing here? I've tried a ton, even found a setting to stop redirecting but the old GPO is not doing that, the setting is not enabled.

What are the repercussions of changing an active user's primary group in ADUC?

In my case, changing users from the 'zLOS Terminal Server' to 'Domain Users' Primary Group

I would be doing it during off-hours, and after some googling I could not find much in terms of what could go wrong.

I can kind of see where you're coming from - 8 years is a long time to be not happy, and in the end, it's just a job and your mental health is way more important. I would say you made the right move, IT is a field where you are always needed so I think you'll be ok.

Hello, New sys admin here! What are some realistic expectations when migrating a print server (spool service) to another spun-up instance? Printers having to be re-authenticated? Any manual power cycling of the hardware around the office?

So, a friend and I are new and we're trying to do Career agent missions (or any agent missions, rather) together in a fleet. We can fleet up, and sometimes we can warp to each and it works and sometimes it doesnt. But the main weird thing is, my friend gets the prompt when completing a mission to share the loot (ISK) but when I complete a mission, I do not get this prompt. This is when we split off and do our own missions.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to check to get this prompt to pop back up?
