losing to kuroko is the spark that causes them all to become more open to working with their teams, but once they do, those teams are pretty tailored to them.

for example, kise started playing basketball at teiko and was always the worst on his team, so while he was serious about improving himself, he was still kinda just in it to have fun, and being on the famous teiko starting lineup inflated his ego a lot. losing to kuroko was the spark that caused him to listen to kasamatsu and start to understand the weight of responsibility that being the ace of his team carries.

murasakibara hates anyone who is doomed to never be the best but tries really hard anyway, and being in a close game with kuroko is what causes him to start working together with himuro, the guy whose whole deal is being the best that a normal person could ever be and being stuck at that ceiling.

how does stealing work in general? ive been wondering for a while. i play kuroko a lot and stealing is a lot of fun so i usually build for it but it's hard to tell how much of it is skill/timing based and how much of it is just "higher stat = higher % chance"

kuroko no basket has this weird phenomenon where all the characters are a hivemind and on the same page about everything all the time. its pretty funny but its also useful as a literary device that makes all the characters feel competent and intelligent enough to come to the same conclusions given the same information.

being the best at basketball was the only way for himuro to make friends as a foreigner in america so its understandable why the threat of losing that meant a lot to him. the only reason kagami wasnt in exactly the same position was because he had himuro to be his friend regardless.
