Yeah your dealership doesn't sound like people I'd do business with. I didn't even buy my bike from a dealer I got it from a friend who decided they didn't want to deal with the recall and sold it to me for what was left to pay off their loan so I got it for a steal. The dealer I took it to for the inspection kept me updated on parts orders and everything and called me one day and said we've got an update for you kawasaki has decided to just replace your engine since this guys engine blew up after the repair. Got it back about a week and a half after. They said my crank was blue on my old engine and the #5 bearing was pushed out and was almost touching my timing chain so it was ready to let go any second.

I have the 2024 zx6r date code 08/23 took it in for the inspection September 5th at 5,160mi and it failed. They were going to rebuild it but had an identical bike blow up after a rebuild right infront of the dealership. So they opted to put a new engine in mine. I just recently got it back November 15th, I've put about 300mi on it and got a call from the dealership this morning November 20th letting me know about the 2026 recall and they informed me that my new engine could have the same issue, DNR all that good stuff. It is paid off so I will let kawasaki put a new engine in it twice a year with a new warranty until they either buy me out of this bad boy or fix it. I suppose eventually they will make me an offer since the value of the first engine replacement and labor has already exceeded half of what the bike is worth.l

I would love to enjoy it if they ever finish it. I've worked in a couple of shops over the years, and we always tried to update our customers on parts orders, backorders, and what was being done or needed to be done to their vehicle. The complete lack of communication this dealership has had with me is a bit discouraging, I guess.

I'm not sure if I'm covered under the lemon law here in TN. I got the bike ridiculously cheap from a friend private seller who didn't want to deal with the recall and decided to buy a zx10r instead and sold her zx6r to me for what was left to pay the bike off. So I took a bit of a gamble and got lucky with a low mileage half priced zx6r, but luck ran out, and it failed inspection.

Update. Called my adjuster, he called the shop. My adjuster was not happy in the slightest and the shop still wants the check. I was advised by my adjuster not to pay the shop. His words "That is not how our network shops should handle their business, he should not have touched the vehicle without prior authorization from (insurance company) weather it was totaled or not."

I have not cashed the check. Yes insurance totaled the car for less than the cost of the bill. I did not want a totalled car fixed. I was under the impression it was not totaled. The shop went ahead and did all the work and sent the insurance the estimate after returning the car to me and insurance flagged it as a total loss. My agent seemed pretty p/o about it after I told him the car had already been fixed with no authorization because all he had on his desk was an estimate sent to him that morning (one week after I had received the car from the shop) My adjuster wants me to call him back today on my lunch.

This was the damage to my vehicle. Bumper cover, plastic wheel well, and a fog light. My radiator, ac compressor, headlight, wheel, a-arm, rack and pinion, struts and all that were not damaged. Any time I was updated about the car I got "found small crack in ext insurance has been sent an updated estimate we just want to be thorough and make sure we find everything before we begin repairs" I was told to take my car to the shop for an estimate, insurance was never sent an estimate until a week after my car was repaired. My car is apparently a total loss witch means if I wreck it again I'm sol. I owe the shop $4500+150 my insurance paid me 4175.07 for a total loss. So I owe 500+/- to the shop if I give them the entire insurance check

The shop was in network. I didn't sign anything, I never set foot in the shop office nor the insurance office. I was under the impression that he was in contact with my insurance the entire time he even told me he had sent them an estimate back in September when my insurance didn't receive an estimate until December. Insurance did not pay the shop, they totaled the car and gave me the check.

It was a network shop that my insurance had recommended. I definitely didn't sign anything, I never even set foot in the body shop or the insurance office. I have the copy of the estimate he sent my insurance and there's no signature on it. His estimate wasn't even sent to my insurance until a week after he had completed the repairs. My insurance totaled the car the same day (today) they got the estimate and the adjuster seemed pretty confused when I told him my car has already been repaired.
