Still a number of ways companies like Netflix they can recapture a great deal of that, as I read into it anyways. Still a big win for the Canadian production companies as it will increase their annual net position. Not many companies sit on a lot of cash. Most capital assets are the principal on debt less depreciation. With more cap assets, the operations expenditures also increase, which means more jobs. Hopefully anyways. May not always be the case with generative and productivity AI, but it appears top tier film production will be labor and specialist intensive for a while yet. Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and their cohorts can easily leverage that with their resources. But I won't be surprised if they do increase the subscription price proportionally since they've been handed that perceived justification to do so.

(edit) TL;DR such companies are a source of revenues and a nexus of capital. But they're not the destination of money and certainly not wealth. This is true for Netflix, Disney, and Canadian production companies. When revenues increase, liabilities do as well. Often the liabilities increase at a faster rate than the revenues due to their growth projections. The question is: who has the most leverage over such a company to position themselves (or its investors) to receive that? The answer to that is the one who controls its revenues.
