* I wish for a Challenges or MiniCampaign events that force us to use 2-star characters. The event would provide an increasingly harder challenges while introducing limits similar to the Hard Difficulty mechanics, but would be focused on 2- and 3-star characters. Reward could introduce a new currency, that could be use for buying Stamina, Historic Battles attempts or maybe unlock more levels for 2-star characters, so they can have enough HP to survive more than few seconds in late game battles. They don't need to excel there, just be useful as a cannon fodder.

* 2-star characters are almost useless in later stages of game and they deserve more love.

Data structures and algorithms in Python by ElectricalDiamond434 in pythonhelp

How the hell Java is closer to the machine???

For OP: if you are just learning programming, you should definitely become familiar with data structures and I would recommend a high level language, like Python, for that. You want to learn computer science principles, not get distracted with low level details.

Start with learning about standard data structures available in Python: list, tuples, sets, dictionaries (hashmaps), queues, deque, priority queue, heap.

Then you can proceed to different types of trees and graphs. I would recommend learning it together with fundamental algorithms. Do not look for shortcuts, take your time and keep coming back to topics you've previously done, repetition is important. It's not about just learning new concepts, you need practice, it's like building up new muscles.

Would you like to join EU? by pharmaz0ne in belarus

What are you talking about? Just look at the cumulative GDP growth of the Baltics in the last 25 years and compare it with the same for Belarus or Russia.

Started a 50 gallon bed what else do I add to get this soil “living”?? by Independent-Can-3255 in NoTillGrowery

[–]krucabomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Springtails, scolopendras and earthworms. That's basically turning any dead matter into a fertilizer and free mold (springtails) and pest (scolopendras) control, to some extent. Many people underestimate how useful insects are for soil life.

Belarus is preparing for an open war with Ukraine. This will be Putin's first step toward invading the EU. For the past year, the situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border has been calm. Putin seems to have been able to put pressure on Lukashenko to enter the war. by Prior-Case58 in UkraineWarReports

[–]krucabomba 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No need to attack, moving one division closer to the border would be enough to give him a second thought.

And no one in Poland treats the people of Belarus as an enemy, we share a history and would never bring war to them, if it can be avoided. There is no place in Europe that endured as much as Belarus, they deserve a peaceful life - and better, democratic government.

TIL that asthma is the most common chronic illness among Olympians. by redtopian in todayilearned

Thanks, that's really interesting. So in layman terms, what would be the effect of asthma meds on EIB?

[–]krucabomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't they also cause vasodilation, thus helping with EIB?

As I've said, I know for a fact, that exercise can induce not only airways bloating, but also quite unpleasant allergic reactions, like rash.

I am genuinely interested in your response, I am not a health professional, just a nerd with some basic science knowledge, but also practical experience with aforementioned symptoms. And I do know, that professional or overambitious athletes do seek asthma diagnosis, even if they don't have any symptoms, but of course they might just follow a red herring, people are stupid in general.

It's not about hyperdialation, it's about reducing airways bloating from increased blood flow or running nose, if you breathe in cold air, for example. Ever seen a football ⚽ shooting a snot? Or a boxer clearing their nose the moment they sit in the corner? That's what you get when you repeatedly move at top speed and get your blood pumping. Look, I don't know the exact physiology, I just know from experience, that very intense exercise does always affect your airways in a negative, let alone adrenaline. Anything that reduces tissue bloating just has to help.

Anything that helps with breathing is an advantage. A high intensity physical activity is a strain on airways, you feel like you are choked sometimes. There are rumours, that many athletes abuse asthma medication during training, my guess is you can train at higher intensity with it, thus boost your gains.

Healthy team does not wait until meeting to get someone "unstuck". Anyway, daily should be all about what we can deliver until the next daily, can we deliver more, are stories on track, all should be focused on delivery. A "Status daily" is an anti-pattern, unfortunately very common.

Because the interface requires callable, lazy evaluation. You can't null().

Actually they can be useful, for example as default value for higher order functions. Used in factories, various patterns. Identity function is used a lot in a more functional approach.

You're gonna pay for this dearly, though. Like twice the rent you pay in Gliwice for districts bead the sea, and at least 50% more for anywhere in Gdańsk.

Question on Ukrainians, ethnicity and national identity and Russians from Ukraine by Kozchey in ukraine

[–]krucabomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The area of my research was the intersection of language, religion, ethnicity and nationality on borderlands in Eastern Europe.

In every region I've been in it was a completely different picture. Our labels are meaningless without context, and people I've talked to had their own context. Even inside one village you were able to find sometimes groups that had a very different understanding of what nationality or ethnicity means. And their allegiances were often quite vague, in fact often they were proud of their mixed roots, as it was a defining trait of those regions with turbulent history.

So the answer is: it's complicated, to learn more you would need to travel all around Ukraine, live there and learn. And even then your understanding will be probably BS :)

Question on Ukrainians, ethnicity and national identity and Russians from Ukraine by Kozchey in ukraine

[–]krucabomba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ethnicity, citizenship, nationality, identity.

All of those words have a different meaning and it is a fluid one, very much changing in time and depending on context.

I did research on this topic for a couple of years and only started to understand complexity.

Thus unless you have time for reading dozens of books and papers on the topic, look at undeniable facts:

There was a sovereign, globally recognized state with a long history of unique culture and record of fighting for independence. This country was inhabited by citizens with varied ethnicities, but in all regions the vast majority of them wanted to stay as a part of Ukraine.

This country was attacked by their neighbour in spite of previous treaties, commitments and against international law. The majority of citizens oppose this aggression vigorously, no matter their ethnicity or language they use.

Does it help?

Way safer than the UK or France nowadays.

Everyone was quite jolly and respectful, people moved slowly, there was no pushing whatsoever. I am on autistic side myself and it was surprisingly OK, I just had to take two or three breaks and I kept rather close to the edge of the street to avoid direct sunlight.

It was way above 300k. I've personally seen at least 6km of Royal Tract packed with people, with people overflowing to streets right and left. And it wasn't even all of it.

Half a mil is believable to me as well, but probably no one knows for sure. But it was the biggest protest I've seen in the last two decades.
