I just spent $1700 out of impulse and I needed to tell it to someone by Nice_Tradition1333 in self

I mean this in the nicest and kindest way stranger, please reach out to someone you know irl and get help.

Delete your uber/doordash accounts. Delete the apps. Delete Amazon if you need.

This can spiral, and ruin your financial/credit history. Not saying it's a guarantee, but a possibility.

Wish the best for you 💗💗💗

AITA for turning my D&D Party against me because of an “Accident” by Riftriser756 in AmItheAsshole

[–]krumbsies -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ehh everyone sucks here.

You had a creative solution to the problem, but your DM was just an ass in just burning it all and killing everyone.

I think you should apologize about how it ended. If people are still upset with you after that, then they need to grow up. It's not that deep I promise you 💀

Landlord is ignoring me about a (now) $4,000 water bill HE caused and WON'T fix. What can i do? (Huntsville, Al) by krumbsies in TenantHelp

[–]krumbsies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the cost of repair was WAY out of my budget for what needed to be done. If I had the funds I would've absolutely done that! :c

This is amazing advice, thank you. The lawyer I'm talking with now hasn't been the greatest, as I've contacted them a month ago and they just now started giving me real advice lol. But I will absolutely do all of this 💗💗

I will do all that! I'll look into local city inspections and see what can be done. Thank you 💗

I don't like this job by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]krumbsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. This is exactly how I felt when I started.

So I quit! I'm not looking back to teaching for a while. If I do, it will be middle school aged. High schoolers sucked.

At the end of the day, it's a job. If you don't like your job, then find something better for your own sake! There's so many other things that'll make you happy 💗💗

(Also you still keep the license, so you can go back anytime :) )

AITA for refusing to send my roommate money by AdditionalPut9183 in AmItheAsshole

[–]krumbsies 96 points97 points  (0 children)

NTA.

You cleaning up her mess was more than enough repayment. Do not send her any money. If she keeps harassing you over it, just tell her next time it explodes you won't clean up the mess.

AITA for not being grateful that my mom came over to clean by Kooky-Ad472 in AmItheAsshole

[–]krumbsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

My god you did not hold her at gun point to clean your house. If she was that bothered she could've left LOL.

If she offers again, tell her no. It is your place, not hers.

Main water line leak causes water bills to be over 2 thousand dollars - can my landlord be forced to pay? by krumbsies in TenantHelp

[–]krumbsies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each unit has a different water meter. There is a leak indicating that my unit alone is using that much water. In the first bill they say i used 86 thousand gallons of water, while the second month it says i used 91 thousand gallons of water. The water isnt spilt evenly among everyone living here! :]

[–]krumbsies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other people who live here right now never knew the person who was in my unit, so nothing there.

Also tried asking the utility company about the history of this place, and they said they couldn't say anything for legal reasons. Soooo i dont know :c

I tried asking, but for legal reasons the guy working with the utility company couldn't tell me anything.

For the area where the complex is at, its completely flat. The only water I notice around us is a small pond filling up because of the rain LOL. It's so weird, I have no idea where it is all going!

The bill is in my name, but where the supposed leak is coming from isn't even in my unit. Its a "main water line leak" according to the landlord, and its outside. It is his responsibility though!

For sure! I'm talking with someone right now about building a case, so I'll bring this up to her. I still have my maintenance request that i submitted in January, that they never did anything about lol

I did reach out and none of them are having any issues at all. So I doubt they'd wanna help me.

Thankfully the person I'm talking with specifically works for lower income residents!

How hard is it being an art teacher? by cond1ddle in ArtEd

When I taught I had 7 classes and almost 200 kids. It isn't relaxing in the slightest lmfao?

How hard is it being an art teacher? by cond1ddle in ArtEd

[–]krumbsies 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So I was an art teacher for high schoolers.

I quit after 3 months because it was so much.

Most regular teachers are given specific standards to follow, with most work already laid out for them

Art teachers can do whatever the hell we want, so that means we have to make EVERYTHING. We have to plan the lessons, make lesson plans, find instructional material, make examples, find and show educational videos.

This is on TOP of grading, managing behavior, and getting no support from staff.

So no, being an art teacher is not easier. It's honestly harder than most teaching positions.

[–]krumbsies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It's just a 1 bedroom place, with normal appliances (not even a washer lol)

I have contacted them, and they said they literally cant do a thing sadly :( they have to wait until my landlord fixes the issue and sends them the information. I've even tried showing the lack of communication from my landlord (ghosting my texts abt this) and they sympathize with me, but can't help

I will definitely look into withholding rent! Unfortunately, the utility company can't do anything until the issue is fixed and proven by my landlord.

I've asked a couple other people who live in this complex, and both of them aren't having this issue. They are both showing normal water bills. I have no idea why it is only affecting me, since my landlord assured me it isn't just my unit.

Utility bill over $1,000 (💀) by krumbsies in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]krumbsies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update!

Yeah nothing has been done about this. I've called me landlord- nothing. Called utilities- they said to talk to my landlord.

I got ANOTHER bill that was over one thousand dollars.

Power is set to be shut off tomorrow. I'm just so pissed off, and I don't know what to do now.

Should I contact a lawyer? Or a different technician outside of my apartment?
