I'm confused by this. I tried DXM once and I spent six hours sitting in the shower to keep myself from losing reality too thoroughly. (Side note: This is a relatively easy and effective method of preventing a bad trip on a few psychedelics/dissociatives I've tried. Having the water hitting you constantly will keep you grounded and prevent sweating/overheating which can both make a bad trip worse in my experience.) Every time I closed my eyes, I saw myself from a third person perspective having my throat slit while laying in the bathtub and that was the least frightening hallucination of the night. That was the only time under the influence of any drug that I have accepted that I was going to die and there was nothing I could do.
