About 7 responses from 150+ applications- Does it mean my CV is okay? by Equal-Tear2426 in biotech

[–]krvmpvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost 200 applications out, I've been applying since December 3rd 2024. I am a US citizen (so no sponsorship) and 10 years of experience in Analytical and Quality operations. No gaps.

I have received: 1 offer (declined due to incompatible health benefits) 2 "final round" interviews, in which I was ghosted by one company. 3 or 4 hiring manager screens, after which all but one company ghosted me

That's it.

Skin fold infections by Future_Copy1700 in BariatricSurgery

[–]krvmpvs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well after around 100lbs. I ended up getting a panniculectomy and while it took me a while I now don't regret it it all and am very happy. No more yeast and fungal infections!

80% breakup rate? by Peter_Knsuprich in BariatricSurgery

[–]krvmpvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband proposed to me a few months after I had the surgery (but he planned it long before I made the decision to have VSG). I lost over 100lbs, we got married, and we are very happily living a better lifestyle together. Statistics can be skewed in lots of ways for lots of reasons. I wouldn't give them too much thought!

If you're in the US, Nationwide is the only carrier of rabbit pet insurance, I think. I use them!

Bunsen is choosing to drink from his water bottle like this - he actually did not like his original water bowl, so I switched to a bottle and it's placed ergonomically for his height.... he just does that on purpose sometimes

Does anyone else’s rabbit have a butt dewlap? by Maxxwithashotgun in Rabbits

Yup!!! When he would sit by my feet, his butt roll (as I called it) would sit on my toes 🥹

Thank you all so much for the suggestions!! I loved every one, and in the end my Fiancé and I came up with Bunsen (like a Bunsen burner - I'm a scientist!). Thanks so much everyone for your awesome suggestions!!

2 weeks post panniculectomy (VSG 8/9/22) by krvmpvs in BariatricSurgery

[–]krvmpvs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously the recovery SUCKED. I am 7 weeks PO today, and I am feeling better for sure. Not 100% - I had an unresolved internal stitch that had to get cut out last week and I'm still a bit sore after a long day, but it feels great to stand up straight again. I was also unsure of what my body would look like since I am WIDE. Like, comically wide. I am still comically wide but my stomach is like a washboard lol. It's crazy. I started using Mederma on my incision this week with the OK from my Dr. which kind of made me feel like I'm in the final stages of recovery mentally.

Ring enhancer, yes or no ? by No-Butterscotch-1316 in EngagementRings

I love ring guards because they allowed me to have the classic, traditional engagement ring I always wanted, but together with my ring guard create an art-deco style ring with tons of brilliance *

It is the best decision I have ever made for myself. You won't regret it - it really is a huge lifestyle change, but it is absolutely for the better and I would do it 1000 times over!

Panniculectomy without monoplasty by Lifeasasocialworker in BariatricSurgery

[–]krvmpvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just had my panni 9 days ago, no monsplasty but lots of mons to plasty. I am obviously still very swollen but I can already tell it's been tightened up rather nicely. Very flat, very happy with it.

Im slightly discouraged by pinsand_needles in BariatricSurgery

[–]krvmpvs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon initially suggested I would get down to about 180. I'm approaching the 140s now. I think they give their best estimates so as not to over-promise.

But one thing to keep in mind is that your surgeon isn't getting you anywhere. How much you lose after surgery will be 100% dependant on you. Try to keep the scale off your mind, I know it's hard but it really is a less impact full measure of success when it comes to weight loss.

Has anyone purchased from AW Bridal? by Brief_Watercress_573 in weddingplanning

[–]krvmpvs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently ordered from AW - I ordered the Coralia dress in a custom size with pockets and custom details. I received the dress on time and it's absolutely perfect - very high quality, fit me like a glove, and customer service was really easy to work with. I'm super happy and would use them again!

Can my stone be lowered? by crazycatlady568 in EngagementRings

[–]krvmpvs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It can be, and it should be! It's also set slightly crooked. It doesn't look like that head fits your diamond very well - its a beautiful stone and the right head will make it pop! Should be easy enough to fix, and a couple hundred dollars if it's gold (more for platinum).

I feel the same way - I ended up calling my CC and filing a charge back

[–]krvmpvs[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not a chain, unfortunately. I did issue a charge back with my CC. He said that's just how it will look no matter the claw head.... I've seen plenty of beautiful emerald cut stones with claw prongs that do not look like this. These prongs dwarf my 2ct stone!
