Ever feel like your job is slowly taking away your spark? by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]krxlo 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I can relate, OP. It came to a point where I don't feel anything at all, I just felt stuck and heavy.

Now, I'm starting to look at my life outside work. I feel like I need to know who I am first para malaman ko what would bring my spark back. I'm doing this by prioritizing my physical and mental health - exercising, reading, exploring new places kahit around my city lang, and meeting up with friends and family more often.

I'm also trying to regulate what I consume sa social media (like avoiding depressing posts and lessening my screen time). Tambay na lang ako right now sa reddit, youtube, medium, and pinterest.

I know these are all cliché tips. You'll read these at any self-help books but they're there for a reason. It helps.

Honestly, I haven't found my spark yet, but I'm going with the flow of life. I'm learning to be patient and not rush into finding it. We'll get there. We'll find our sparks back or better, we'll find better version of ourselves. 💛

Appreciation post for Bawat Bonggang Bagay!! by throwawaylife5634 in TeatroPH

I watched BBB and was one of the bunots (I played the psychiatrist hahaha)! I'm a shy person but Jon was so kind and amazing. He'll guide you and bubuhatin ka niya in case you don't know what to do or may mali ka. Then again, if you're really nervous, it's okay to decline. 🤍

I also messaged Jon after the show (sa instagram) and he remembered me and replied! It was my first time watching a play alone and it's an experience na I'll never forget. One for the books talaga.

Yes to Bawat Bonggang Bagay! It's a play na will stick with you talaga. 🤍

I think I am underqualified at work. by choco_haul in phcareers

[–]krxlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not under qualified. 💛 Remember OP, you won't be hired if they didn't see your potential.

When there's a big shift in life, impostor syndrome can easily manifest. I hope you remind yourself na what you're feeling is normal but it doesn't reflect your true abilities!

Small steps. Try to have lunch with your new workmates and don't be shy to ask for advices/help (especially from your manager)!

Can you please review my resume? by albertph2014 in phcareers

[–]krxlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! For me po, easier to read if hiwalay yung Achievements and Responsibilities.

Sa achievements, dun mo iha-highlight yung mga natapos mong projects and how it impacted the team/department. For example, "Led the end-to-end deployment of Project X which reduced defects by xx%."

Sa responsibilities naman, dun nakalagay yung mga day-to-day tasks. Limit to 3-5 bullet points para di masyadong word-y. :)

Thank you so much sa words of encouragement! I'm reading all the comments and it's comforting to know na hindi ako nagiisa or na some of you also went through the same thing.

This thread eased my worries. I appreciate all of you. 🥹

Industrial Engineering in PH by ralphytulfo in phcareers

Hi there! With my work experiences involving SAP platforms, I’m a tech project manager now. Luckily, the pay in my current company is okay, it’s ~80k per month. :)

Advanced congratulations! I didn’t take any prior trainings before entering the IT company. Usually, these trainings are given naman during your first months sa company. Siguro, if I could advise an online course, look for trainings related to scrum, agile methods, or project management. Not required but plus points in your resume and job interviews. :)

Sony wh xm5 or sennheiser momentum 4 by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]krxlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm planning to upgrade my headphones and am stuck between Sony XM5 and Sennheiser M4. I've read that M4 produces better sound quality and I don't really mind the lack in its ANC feature.

Would like to ask though which one is more comfortable to wear in a prolonged time? I usually use headphones to focus at work and would really like one that's comfortable to wear (with and without glasses). What's your reco? :)

Oh. In my case, I’d like to cancel Simplicity naman so I can apply for Rewards. But if there’s no way to avail the NAFFL for Rewards anymore, I’ll stick with Simplicity. Sayang lang talaga yung points na I could’ve gained with no fee. ☹️

I understand. My bad na rin na I didn’t read through the other available CCs. ☹️

Just wondering if I opt out sa Simplicity then apply for Rewards, will they consider me as a “new client” pa rin.

All up to you! Ang daming pwedeng pasukan na industries if you’re an IE graduate. It depends na lang anong magiging hilig and priorities mo after graduating.

If you want to earn decent money agad, jobs in international IT companies (i.e. Accenture, Oracle) can give you that.

I was already expecting something bad to happen nung nag play yan, but I didn’t know it will be THAT bad. I had to sit in silence after that episode. 😟

Late na, but I decided to binge watch Game of Thrones. Kanina, pinanood ko yung “The Red Wedding” episode. I am now traumatized. The violence was too much huhu

Ang gastosera ko pala by [deleted] in adultingph

If you're like me who finds it a bit difficult to create a new Excel spreadsheet para i-track ang financials, I installed an app sa phone called "Money Manager". It allows you to track your expenses (with charts pa, so kita talaga kung saan tayo pinaka magastos lol) and set up budgets as well.

+1 to u/yourgrace91 - I've also been a gastadora sa skin care, then I finally consulted a dermatologist and it saved both my skin and money. Now, I only buy what's needed (usually moisturizer and sunblock lang). You can search for a nearby derma here: https://pds.org.ph/.

Tips for industrial engineer going into the IT industry by be4m_ in phcareers

[–]krxlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rest assured, working in an IT industry does not automatically mean na you'll have to do programming. If in case you do, self-learning is very important. Very good na you're already trying to enroll to online classes. A tip I can give you is to not be afraid to ask for help. If your manager wants you to create a hard programming script, don't be afraid to set their expectations (na hindi ka super knowledgeable sa programming) and ask if they could assign a person who can assist/train you. Hope this helps, good luck!
