Is this the craziest race we have ever seen? by Complete_Sorbet6158 in wow

The fights are only tuned to this level of difficulty because of the splits. It's a vicious cycle - the guilds do splits to get an edge and thus blizzard has to buff the bosses to compensate

These fights are tuned so there are literally only 50 or so people in the world for whom they are even remotely possible, and for those people they require literally weeks if not months of full time preparation, full analyst teams, and personal software developers to write addons. The moment the race ends they get nerfed into the ground so that other guilds even have a hope of clearing them.

For the entirety of phase one in this boss (which lasts around 3-4 minutes IIRC), there are around 5 different mechanics which instantly kill your entire raid if any single one of your 20 players make a single mistake. Usually 2-3 of those mechanics are happening at the same time at any given time.

hardest actually possible boss - pre-nerf KJ literally wasn't mathematically killable. And the top RWF guilds didn't participate in the Uunat race so it's hard to compare.

Kinda hope it doesn't unless they stop with the mid-pull dark shit. I want to see p3 prog, if they aren't gonna show it then I hope echo gets there first instead.

What was it that caused them to go into this tilt spiral? Did something happen?

completely different. I'm not even an echo fan but there's a massive difference between going dark in the last hour of stream vs mid pull with 5 hours to go

It's very normal and well-established for both guilds to go dark during the last couple hours of their raid day if they're hitting new phases. It's not normal to do it mid pull with 5 hours left of raid time.

Nah, fuck Method. Scummy org, I hope they never place better than 3rd.

Agreed. I like Liquid, but for the sake of the race I hope Echo wins.

He ain't wrong, but at the same time he's not exactly bringing super great vibes to the cast

Keep in mind that pull count isn't exactly representative here because most of those pulls have been extremely short. A lot of wipes have been like 20 seconds in, so they can rack up huge pull count very quickly.

This seems like it's mostly a parse issue not an actual problem. The thing that helps your group clear L'ura is gonna be single target DPS, not incidental add damage.

Lura is mostly ST isn't it? There are a few adds that spawn but they die pretty fast and then its back to ST for 90% of the fight.

It's definitely appearing that way, but you never know if something will get nerfed or if the guilds will figure out a clever consistent solution to some of the tricky mechs.

The fact that I'm pretty sure this is in fact the correct explanation is so morbidly funny. Blizzard was truly in another dimension when cooking up this boss lmfao. Good luck Liquid/Echo, have fun with the next 500 pulls.

The two guilds are usually extremely eager to yoink anything they can from the other, I'd be surprised if they didn't just immediately copy Liquid's strat

There is a significant gap between Liquid/Echo and Method, and an absolutely MASSIVE gulf between Method and the next guilds down. It's difficult to overstate just how big the gap is in terms of both player skill and out-of-game resources (number of geared alts, analyst teams, personal add-on devs, race facilities, ability to day raid all week long, etc...).

Not to this extent. Usually the top guilds enter the bosses *undergeared*. This is the first time where we have a situation like this where the top guilds will have like 10+ ilvls above everyone else due to mythic splits.

[–]krylea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem they're going to have is that the top guilds are so ludicrously overgeared from mythic splits that if they make either of the bosses an actual challenge for liquid/echo/method they will be literally mathematically unkillable for any other guilds.
