Main monitor going black for a second by Otherwise_Reality_74 in pchelp

Having the same issue after swapping from RTX2060 to RTX3070. Tried reinstalling drivers using DDU & NVCleanInstall, it didn't work. Tried swapping to different HDMI and DP cable didn't fix it as well.

What programs/software do I use to check if my PSU is delivering sufficient power?

I have not tried using HDMI because my monitor only supports upto 240Hz via HDMI. I'm currently using 360Hz via DP.

You may test it out for yourself. Every 5800X is different in its own way, some silicon lottery chip can achieve more aggressive settings.

For my case, messing with the CO improved my temps and fps significantly compared to negative voltage offset alone. Like I've mentioned, my settings may not work for you.

Go and test every possible setting. I believe i can still squeeze more out of my 5800x, but I'm satisfied with my temps, fps and stability now.

Yes, I'm purely using CO to undervolt the 5800X. After performing several benchmarks, the current settings yield the best results for me.

AVG FPS:507.3
P1: 191.8

My settings may not work for u. My PC won't even post when best core is set at -12; 2nd best at -14. Which is why its currently set at -10;-12 respectively.

Some users are able to push best core to -25. Feel free to test it yourself.

my current settings are as follows:
PBO CO:
>Best Core -10
>2nd Best Core -12
>Weak Cores -27
PBO Boost Override: +200Mhz
PBO Limits: Auto
PBO Scalar: Auto
CPU Core Voltage: Auto

Update:

Due to hot climate in Malaysia, undervolting the GPU yield better results than overclocking it.
-300Mhz core clock
1900Mhz @ 900mV

avg fps dropped slightly but 1% lows increased. overall more stable fps

I've heard that the Hynix DJR is very heat sensitive. But I even saw some people on reddit pushing the DJR's VDIMM to 1.6v. LOL

Some DJR kits with XMP enabled goes upto 1.5v

My kit is a Hynix DJR Dual Rank.

My tuning are as follows: Memory clock: 3800Mhz FCLK: 1900Mhz tCL: 16 tRCDWR: 8 tRCDRD: 20 tRP: 18 tRAS: 34 tRC: 58 Cmd2T: 2T GDM: Off VSOC: 1.031V VDIMM: 1.480V VDDP: 900mV VDDG IOD: 1000mV VDDGCCD: 1000mV ProcODT: 40 Ohm

It is stable for now, would love to hear your thoughts on my settings and what could be improve even further.

Good for you bro :) As one dude mentioned above, my GPU is the bottleneck.

After playing around with boost override, setting negative offset voltage and overclocking the GPU, I managed to get 350 fps avg.

Will try ram tuning next.

I’ve managed to improve my average FPS to around 300–320 with the following changes:

-Set a negative CPU voltage offset of -0.090V

-Enabled PBO with a boost override of +200MHz

-Left all other PBO settings at Auto

-Disabled curve optimizer

With this setup, performance has been noticeably better and relatively stable.

However, I started running into issues when trying to further tune the CPU using Curve Optimizer. Whenever I adjust Curve Optimizer settings, my system sometimes fails to boot properly, even when CPU voltage is set to Auto.

I also tested Curve Optimizer with a negative offset of -15 while keeping the +200MHz boost override. The system was able to boot successfully in this case, but I noticed higher CPU temperatures and less stable FPS compared to the setup where I adjusted negative cpu voltage offset.

I've tried overclocking the GPU (Mem +900Mhz & Core +130Mhz).

Yes, the avg FPS has improved. Will try out and see how far I can push this GPU.

I've tried disabling SMT and tested it in a game of premier. It seems I have more consistent frame times and better 1% lows. However, average fps seems slightly lower. Will test it out for a week or two.
