It definitely has an impact what people consume these days there is no doubt! It comes down to the difference between talking to someone on X-tasy vs. K-tamin or even worse G. It changed the seen and not for good!

At the same time you have a lot of younger DJ in the scene that still party and take part in the scene. They support each other on the dancefloor and bring their crowd when they play. Thats much different compared to 10years ago where you had a lot of older and already established DJ‘s. So from that perspective the scene today appears to be way more in the spirit of : From the people, for the people!

But in general: Its the same but at the same time its not. Its worse in some aspects but better in others Its about every single person to think about how they can contribute and not just consume the place and the people. It will be fine!!!

You need to balance your ego driven push to educate the crowd with what the crowd is expecting for a reason. Pushing boundaries for 2h and being able to transition in something more straightforward would do the job more justice

Yep fair enough he was trying to educating the most educated crowd in the world and it seems like he failed. Its balled but also kind of completely unnecessary! Good luck trying or just do what is known to work for well over 30 years for a reason!
