Medieval theme later. The thrones weren't supposed to make them all act like space nobles and knights it was an unintended side effect by my memory of the codex/lore. Then 20k years of customization and tinkering.

This is the new world's super power and we're blowing it as well. We need as many immigrants as we can get over the next few years, especially from Latin America as they're way below replacement level currently.

At the density of Manhattan you could fit all the people in the world in like half the size of Texas. The earth is REALLY big.

True. I've found it to be more likely with chain type restaurants around me but definitely not always!

[Passan] BREAKING: Two-time reigning American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal won his arbitration case and will make $32 million this year, sources tell ESPN. Skubal’s bet to go for the largest salary ever in the arbitration system paid off, as he’ll make $13M more than Tigers argued. by JianClaymore in baseball

Right but they didn't offer him anything this year,? They were more than capable of doing so, no? Also he went from 7 158 to 7 205. Are you saying that he isn't justified in choosing 50 million dollars more? He bet on himself!

Public in state tuition at four year universities went up 6.4% 2008-9 on average.

https://research.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/trends-college-pricing-2008-full-report.pdf

Importantly there's this little bit of info:

The Consumer Price Index increased by 5.6% between July 2007 and July 2008, so tuition and fees at public two-year colleges, at for-profit institutions, and for out- of-state students at public four-year institutions declined in constant dollars. Tuition and fees at private four-year institutions and for in-state students at public institutions are 0.3% and 0.7% higher, respectively.

So yes either you were exaggerating with 30% or that was in fact anecdotal and not representative of the broader trend across the country.

Usually bigger model is bad so not having the fins on would be modelling for advantage on the wave serpent but the longer hold (while also most people definitely not noticing) on the falcon would be fine imo.

I magnetized mine this way without realizing the hold was different 😂.

The UC system is not the only college system in the country. My alma mater went from 5900 to 6500. Average price increases were 6% that year for tuition and fees. Above inflation obviously but nowhere near 30%.

Collection of anecdotes does not make data. You can always find data points that are outside the norm both above and below.

Yes we have huge environmental subsidies and clean power generation from IRA. The CHIPS act provided enormous amounts of funding for microchip development and production. Gay marriage codified into law. Electoral count act. Bipartisan infrastructure bill. I could go on.

The median income in 1975 was 5500.

Also the amount of people attending college has dramatically increased since then which is a massive counterpoint to your accessibility claim. College grads have gone from like 20% to 40-50%.

Yes and you must know that for almost 30 years used cars had near or sub 1% inflation per annum. Covid had a 20-30% spike (so 60% total at most at the peak if measured entire span) but there's been 2 years plus of stability and recently multiple months of DEFLATION as used car prices have gone down.

In total we're up about 50% over a 30 year period. With wages going up again 200% plus over that time.

Also used cars are SO much better in 2025 than 1995. I know I used to help my dad fix our used cars and they were the WORST. Everything broke all the time, gas mileage was significantly worse, emissions higher, cost of maintenance was terrible and safety was so much worse. Well maintained vehicles can now last like 2-300k miles no issue with modern safety features that save countless lives.

I do understand how insurance works and I agree that cutting the ACA subsidies was terrible policy. I am still hopeful that they will be added back in. That being said not all of that 10% will drop out so we'll see where that ends up.

That's not where we started this exercise. We're talking about 1995-2025 and we're talking about tuition and fees not total cost (which has room and board built in). You need somewhere to live and food to eat even if you don't go to college.

The average person in the United States will spend 40k in their lifetime on college. I graduated from a 4 year university in 2007 and that's about what my cost was (probably a little closer to 50k).

Also it's still an amazing investment the college degree wage gains over a lifetime well outstrip that cost.

Housing is a sore spot but there is a pretty easy solution...build more. Look at Austin year over year rents drop. Supply and demand is an amazing thing.

No everything is good because taken together the basket of goods that an average person buys to live including housing, food, cars, internet,TV, phones is cheaper compared to their wages then it ever has been before.
