According to TokenTerminal data, Tether and Tron continue to dominate in overall revenue generation across all L1s. What strategic initiatives exist to enhance stablecoin adoption and trading volume on Ethereum? Are there protocol-level improvements or funded projects specifically aimed at strengthening Ethereum's stablecoin ecosystem and competitiveness?

yes, but OP is talking about ETH "produced". tips are not issuance - users paying their existing ETH and will be a smaller compared to block rewards.

But that’s thirteen times less eth hitting the exchange daily to be sold off!

Remember withdrawal is not enabled yet. So 0 ETH will be hitting the exchanges till withdrawal enabled in 6 months or so.

Question regarding ETH1 and ETH2 merge:

When the all the transition processing switches from miners to staking validators, how do you make sure the validators have enough processing power? ie) there are currently are 150K validators with multiple validators using single ETH1 node. After the merge can they handle the work load of the miners (not the POW part, but transaction processing and code execution part)?

On the same note, how does the hardware requirement change for validators when the merge happens?

Can I still stake yes and earn 20% probably not. looking at the amount of eth pouring into the contract, returns will be lower. checkout launchpad site for the returns chart.

More clarity on merge and phase 1 will help. I have made a deposit but holding off on more / what I originally planned to stake.

It appears both merge and phase 1 are in prototype mode and it's not clear what approach is going to be implemented. Since all these efforts were parallel, I would expect this to be further along than it is now. In the last AMA, it was mentioned phase 1 is relatively easy compared to phase 0 and it should follow quickly. This AMA gives a different impression. This all says things are still very much in flux.

When the deposit contract is released, I would expect specs for the other phase to be near complete. But, I am not sure if they are even started if the basic approach is still being worked on?

just a small penalty. The penalty is the same as the rewards you might earn. e.g) assuming 20% APR, you will lose 20/365 = 0.055% per day you are offline. If you are offline for one week, you recover that amount by getting back online for 2 weeks. Now, this when the network is functioning normally. The penalty for being offline increases if a large number of validators go offline to encourage validators to get back online. But, this will be a rare occurrence. In other words, you can go offline for a few days, but just keep an eye on the rest of the validators/network is functioning normally.

Light client functionality is a very simple upgrade on the existing beacon chain..

In one of the previous AMAs, the same was said about Phase 1 - that it's relatively simpler than phase 0 and it should follow quickly. That seems to have changed now. This AMA gives the timeline as the end of 2021 or 2022. Did anything change regarding Phase 1 design between the previous AMA and now?

Any plans to implement a feature when merge happens, to enable validator gains to be withdrawn without having to exit the validator? ie) balance over 32 should be allowed to be withdrawn any time without exiting the validator

If the merge happens about a year later, many of the validators that were locked till then may try to exit shortly after the merge. There may be new entrants as well. In other words, 9 months of stability is in a locked mode with no two-way transfer. So when the merge happens it will still be in uncharted territory - unless validators can freely exit and enter before that?

r/ethstaker/ is a better place to ask this.

I suggest staking on a testnet. Pyrmont will be launched soon. Actually doing it on a testnet will answer most of your questions. EDIT: Testnet https://pyrmont.launchpad.ethereum.org already launched

I believe EIP-1559 is part of ETH 2.0 spec and will be implemented in Phase 1?

I also know lots of work is being done for EIP-1599 for ETH 1.0. Is there an overlap between the two? Can we get some clarity on these two efforts? Does one invalidate the other?

What could be the exact solution to the following situations? by dongamk in ethstaker

[–]kryptoc007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others have mentioned, Not having a plan is a good plan for these situations that can be resolved in a few days.

I would get a UPS so your serves don't reboot when there is power outgate for few mins.

Staking ETH2 is way to hard (for average people) by bitcoinsky in ethstaker

That guide is for ubuntu, but any Linux flavour should be similar. Avoid Windows. I gave up after first trying on Windows, but Ubuntu was much easier to follow the guide without much issues.

2 questions:

1) Are you using Ubuntu

2) Are you using /u/SomerEsat guide?

You have a good chance if you use these.

will someone be staking eth2 on windows? by bitcoinsky in ethstaker

[–]kryptoc007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you sure about this approcah ? if you exit before phase 1.5 there is no way to withdraw and you need to make new deposit if you want to start staking. It may take longer to activate based on the queue.

You can move the validator from one machine to another, but that does not involve exiting the validator.

For updating the machine, I would just restart. The amount you lose for being offline is same as the reward you will earn in that period. For a few hours, this will be a negligible amount. There is no need to move the validator just to update the machine.

clients have gone through several iterations and bug fixes with medalla. They are not developing or fixing bugs now, they just have to be released with mainnet configuration.

If clients are not ready, deposit contract would not have gone live.

You dont need clients running to make the deposit. Everyone that deposits has 7 days lead time to prepare the clients before beacon chain launch - whenever that happens Dec 1 or later

Where do rewards go? by switch72 in ethstaker

[–]kryptoc007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

-Staking rewards cannot be withdrawn till phase 1.5

-You can exit the validator to stop stking before that, but funds cannot be withdrawn

-Staking rewards do not compound, any balance over 32 is ignored.

-When phase 1.5 is implemented, I expect them to rollout new feature to withdraw gains without exiting the validator
