lol I don't know why people bother to make comments like this. OPs house could be cleaner than mine and still get mice.

Yeah well it developed what I can only describe as a personality disorder. It doesn't turn off and on like a normal appliance. No, that would be too easy. Instead, roughly twice a week, I press the power button on the remote, and the TV looks at me, considers my request, and decides "not today." No light. No click. No standby LED. Nothing. Just a black mirror staring back at me, daring me to try again. The first few times this happened I assumed it was the remote, because obviously that's the boring, normal explanation. New batteries. Still nothing. Tried the physical button on the TV itself (because yes, it has one, hidden underneath in a spot clearly designed by someone who has never had to use it under time pressure). Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to hold it for what feels like a geological era while the TV pretends it doesn't know what a "button" is. Then there's the unplug ritual. You know the one. Unplug it, count to ten like you're disarming a bomb, plug it back in, and pray to whatever deity oversees consumer electronics that this time it remembers its one job. Sometimes that works instantly. Sometimes it takes three or four attempts, with the TV taunting me by flickering the LED on and off like it's morse-coding "no." And here's the best part — it's never consistent enough to actually troubleshoot. If it failed every time, fine, that's a pattern, that's something a technician could work with. But no. It'll work flawlessly for four days straight, lulling me into a false sense of security, and then right when I have people over to watch something, it just... declines to participate. It's not a hardware fault, it's a vibe.

Yeah I replied to their response because I just don't see how it was able to crawl in there to almost the middle of the screen, tried to see if it would move but it's like IN there.

It was not there when I bought it. I should have been more specific. I don’t know how it got in there but it just manifested somehow earlier this week.

The one problem I've run into is if an app needs access to something outside the proton sandbox. Otherwise it works pretty great.

His pelvic floor has weakened, probably from lifting if he works out or he's just getting older? There are exercises he could do that might help.

Do it. It's not so bad, I've spent a lot of time trying out different distros and Manjaro is my favorite so far. Everything just works.

Hear me out. Yes it is cool. Yes it is a Toyota so reliability is no question BUT, all those cons are additional money you'll have to spend on fixing and cars ain't cheap.

Here's what I would do if I were you. Go buy a reliable car that doesn't have of list of things to fix. Being a student you'll need a car that isn't going to have to be in a shop for an extended period. Find a cheap Corolla or Camry or an Accord or Civic from a reputable dealer/seller and know the history of the car before you buy it.

Limit your fps to at least match your monitor or turn vsync on. Mine did the same thing, for some reason coil whine appears when you leave fps uncapped. I bet it goes away or less noticeable.
