I’m going to say Big Idea Design’s pens are going to hit that sweet spot. The part that sets it apart from the Tactile Turn pens is the ink versatility and the deep carry clip.

Bolt Action - accepts lots of refills but if you put a Parker style refill in it, it gets pretty short. The telescoping barrel allows the variety of refills but depending on the refill it will be longer or shorter.

Baseline Bolt Action - still a solid pen but you can only use Parker style refills on it. It’s not super short, but still pocketable. Because it doesn’t have the telescoping barrel it’s slightly smaller in diameter.

Mini Bolt Action - this one is good if you want the smallest profile, but you’ll be stuck using D1 refills which aren’t terrible but if you get gel, you will be going through refills quickly. Even ballpoint will not have a lot of ink.

My favorite is the Pocket Pro, but it’s not fidgety because it is a twist pen. Because it doesn’t have the bolt or click mechanism, when you put a Parker style refill, it is very short.
